Comeback came up short, but I don't see how any Laker fan could be discouraged by that effort. Lakers are a big time threat to come out of the West

I agree. The Lakers played well. What killed them was that 3rd Quarter which historically is a bad quarter for them because they have spent way too much time over the years tanking that quarter.

Defense and offense wins chips. lakers only have one piece of the puzzle. like the nash/amare suns. You gotta get stops against the big dogs. Offense only gets you to the conference finals maybe and then reality hits. Outscoring the teams only works against the bum bottom feeders and middle of the road teams. . it doesn't work against the top elite teams of the league (thunder, cavs, celtics etc)

The difference in the game was free throws ( 25-14 ) in a 10 pt game. Going to happen when you play at home.

Boston had 1 more FG made, Lakers has 1 more 3 pt made.

Also, another habit has been quietly killing the Lakers for quite awhile and that is turnovers. The Lakers turned the ball over 14 times for 16 Celtics points.

The Lakers also could not stop the duo of Brown and Tatum who combined for 71 Celtics points. Not good.

Very bad time to be without Bron.

Brutal stretch just got even more brutal. Expect a steep decline in standings. They have 2 games against the Nuggets and Bucks as well as other above .500 teams during that time.

Redick will have to play Reaves, Western Knecht, Vanderbilt, Goodwin, Milton, Vincent, Vanderbilt, Jemison, and possibly even Reddish more minutes per game. We may even see Kokolo and Bronny more too.

The Lakers are going to have to cover all that Offense James has provided including threes. We shall see how all this plays out.

Yeah, they could’ve used his presence last night.

A lot of people rip on him, want him traded, etc, but he does more for the team than what shows up in the box score. Most fans miss that if they aren’t watching the game and just look at stats.
