For a team that really has a chance to do something special with all that very good young pitching. The most money they spent so far is 1.8 million in international signing bonus money for someone who might never make it to the majors and at best 4-6 years away. Just imagine a scenario where Dumbass didn't sign Jarry or trade for Karlsson. Bit the bullet for that year with Rutta, Granlund and Petry on top of keeping the lottery picks.

This team would be light years ahead right now vs wallowing in some god-awful sense of Crosby/Malkin and Letang will make you win again fairytale.

^Honestly not defending him but I think he was forced to keep this team as it pertains to “winning” with Crosby/Malkin and Letang. Hell HOF GMJR quit because he didn’t want to do this as he wanted to trade Letang. We can only imagine “what if” this team right now around Crosby with young talent and no signs of Malkin or Letang sucking the air out of the franchise.


I know moving on from them would upset some but this team had zero issues after MAF left. The fans stayed and honestly more would have stayed if they got younger with hopes of a future. Instead we will be back to the Rico Fata/Milan Kraft, Koltsov (RIP) and slick Dick Tarnstrom shit before we know it.
