Flexen might be reasonable for a veteran innings eater to go with the rookie pitchers.

The White Sox didn't waste any time getting rid of Moncada. They also didn't let me showcase his health at season's end - so I'd say Getz doesn't buy the Moncada act.

Good luck to this gentleman:

To say he'll have his work cut out for him would be the Grand Poobah of Understatements.
He sounds like an up and comer - at 34 he seems kind of young. I do think it is funny that he got pushed out of the Orioles coaching staff because the 3rd best hitting team in the regular season went cold in the playoffs. It is one thing to teach the mechanics of hitting and another skill set to calm players down when under pressure. I think how the players execute under pressure reflects on the manager more than the individual coaches.

Welcome to the Sox - lets get is sorted out.

The Sox are kicking the tires on this fellow from Korea:

They are also looking at a Japanese pitcher.

I think he's a 2 year $18 million kind of contract guy. On top of that - is a posting fee must be paid. In Korea = it is not so much - so another 2-3 million for that.

They are going to hire one guy, and that guy is going to write computer programs for every different department? The Sox better have that guy in mind - or they should hire some contractors to do that - and bring a guy in to manage it from the git go.

Still this stuff needs to be done - so the Sox stop losing to rookie pitchers because they don't have scouting report on the new pitcher.

The interviews with the new hitting director - Fuller - I thought went pretty well. I thought this interview - from his Baltimore days was outstanding for information:

Basically, Fullers philosophy - is to set up systems inside the organization to serve the hitters as customers - while holding the hitters to a generalized (individualized) respect for the zone - and to swing the bats in a way the drives the ball into the air. The Sox had no system for getting the hitters information related to the pitcher they were going to face. The Sox have had bad hitters - poorly prepared to hit - a nice combination if you are playing against someone.

Good article, even tho it's over two years old. Not sure what, if any changes to his approach and philosophy may have been made. But we can say the basics are the basics, regardless of year. My guess is that foundation has altered little, if at all.
