people on facebook mad at me for saying

J'marr Chase is a top 5 WR, but not the best WR, maybe #4
Zach Moss is average, he is not a pro bowler. he was never expected to be an elite weapon.

Groups like that don't typically appreciate objectivity.

It's one of the great things I've enjoyed about this group going back to the old ESPN days - we seem to all have a firm grasp (normally) on where this organization is at legitimately. Sure, we get excited at times (Mostly over the past 5 years) but we have really not had a blowhard in our midst (other than Chaney, I guess - but each team has to have at least 1, no?).

It's also one of the reasons why I've really enjoyed that AFCN Hate Guide - a lot of smack talk, but a lot of objective takes from fans from all teams.

I like that having moss in the lineup opens things up for chase brown to get occasional snaps. it seems that mixon was allowed to take every snap if he wanted to.

Zach Moss is not a pro bowler.... That said, I like him better in our offense than Joe Mixon.
Moss reminds me a bit of Mixon in that he's a patient runner. However, when holes are there, he is taking advantage - that is the big difference between He and Mixon, IMO.

One of the reasons I think Brown "looks" different is he just gets the ball and goes. I like that, personally. I get there are times needed to be patient in allowing blocks to be set - but if he can get 5 yards right now (and on 1st down) - then go get me 5 yards. He's been close 3 or 4 times from breaking it off and taking a run to the house. It's going to happen...

It's a nice combo to have since they have a bit varying styles. That said, again personally, I'd let Brown be RB1...he is supposed to be a good blocker (was a positive coming into the draft) and can clearly catch passes (had quite a few last year for TD's AND worked with the same WR coach as Yoshi this off-season). I'd still use Moss more on 3rd down and some change of pace type plays...but if they are splitting, let's say, 30 carries as they did last week....I'd like to see Brown with just a few more. I think they both got 15 last week....Maybe 18/12...of course, all depending on situation and game flow.

Regardless - the running game is much better than it was with Mixon. Now, let's hope that Taylor sticks with it because we've seen this play before. Run it a ton for success 1 week, and 11 runs the next week....

I really like Chase Brown as well. I think they are platooning him so they don't wear them down, and Moss has a little bit of dog in him on those short yardage plays. Moss I have noticed is one hell of a good blocker too, I am sure on all those first and second downs are are passing, he is in there to be a blocker as well. I love seeing a RB just go get it though in Brown. Hit that hole quick, because shit closes up quick and if you are dancing behind the line waiting for a hole to open up, the LB's and safeties are already collapsing on the potential hole opening. You lost your window. In this league, you need to make your own holes by just running through anything that is there, switching directions and not waiting for defense to identify what is happening while they are still on their heels. Punch them in the face when they aren't ready. Mixon gave defenses a lot of time to do that dancing behind the line waiting for openings.
