I would love for the Tigers to sweep them. Skubal has been outstanding. The Astros lose.
That would be great.I would love for the Tigers to sweep them. Skubal has been outstanding.
Glad he pitched well.Ragans leaves after 6 scoreless innings with cramps in his leg.
Another bad CY oversightRagans leaves after 6 scoreless innings with cramps in his leg.
Just think what it would be without the ring.Cole Ragans just dominating a stout Orioles lineup.
Still a gut punch for me. Even with the ring.
Justin Slaten didn't do too bad himself this year after the Rangers left him unprotected in the Rule 5 draft last year.Just think what it would be without the ring.
Clase and Ragans are the one, two punch.
It cute both ways. No one figured Kirbybskikd end so dominantJustin Slaten didn't do too bad himself this year after the Rangers left him unprotected in the Rule 5 draft last year.
in hindsight i can see that CY made a major error in trading but i think he felt at the time it was a "logical" move. hopefully he continues to learnThere were several guys on Twitter who didn't care for my stance that the Rangers really messed up in how they viewed Ragans in ST and the early part of the 2022 season. I even got the old "change of scenery" excuse. Lol
The problem I see is how they handled Ragans coming out of ST. He should have never been sent to the pen. Everyone always wants to start the discussion with the trade, but I look back past the trade to not having him in a starting rotation. I thought at the time it was a terrible decision. Had they done the right thing then, all of the rest would have worked itself out. They set Ragans up to look bad by placing him in the pen and when he did they saw him as exoendible.in hindsight i can see that CY made a major error in trading but i think he felt at the time it was a "logical" move. hopefully he continues to learn
The quote I saw just said "one of them." They seemed to be saying they will have a rotation spot for one of them and maybe a bullpen spot for one of them.I think he only mentioned Leiter as a pen addition. Hope that does not happen
Maybe he starts at AAA and if there is a need after the break maybe the pen
But hope that is not a longterm plan
Here is the excerpt from Evan's Grant's article:The quote I saw just said "one of them." They seemed to be saying they will have a rotation spot for one of them and maybe a bullpen spot for one of them.
rather see Rocker start the year in the rotation and Leither start in the AAA rotation and maybe brought up at ASBThe quote I saw just said "one of them." They seemed to be saying they will have a rotation spot for one of them and maybe a bullpen spot for one of them.
seems logical, but i'd rather fill the pen with proven reliever arms and see Leiter continue his starter development at AAA.Here is the excerpt from Evan's Grant's article:
Obviously, Leiter and Rocker, in whom the Rangers invested the second and third overall picks in the 2021 and 2022 drafts, respectively, are the preferred options. And even if they don’t both make the rotation, manager Bruce Bochy said Friday he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of one earning a bullpen spot. Emphasis on “earn.”
