Dejounte is also a better long-term option without a doubt even if they give up picks they have a solid 1 and 2 when Lebron leaves. Reeves is a good, young piece too

He’s a steal if he turns around his d

But you gotta get something for JHS or Christie probably to make it work

I’d give up 30 to atl to land Christie

It helps playing with teammates that want to play defense and try on that side of the court. Trae never played a lick of defense in his life

So, according to Sam Amick, Murray to the Lakers isn't a matter of if, it's matter of when.

Shams has said that the offer is D-Lo, the 2029 #1 and a pick swap. He says the holdup is a landing spot for D-Lo. Says his recent play has increased the chances of finding a 3rd team.

As for the Donovan Michell/Trae Young stuff...according to Dave McMenamin...the Lakers have had internal discussions about waiting until the off season and looking at trading 3 firsts plus players currently on the roster for 1 of them. He claimed that Mitchell is expected to decline his player option after next season.
Makes a little more sense.....and I'm sure if he wont extend with the Cavs a number of teams will be having these discussions.

Pretty sure a near lock he declines his option unless something in CBA I am unaware of that makes it beneficial to play under the option.

Your Cav brethren WiggyonenutRuss is an Amick supporter.
Not sure why as Amick for a long time had been critical of the Cavs and never really owned he was off about them and their plan(s).

He almost certainly goes sign and trade at minimum.

and again 2 of the 3 first rounders LA can trade are 5 and 7 years from now.

Not real appealing for a team approaching its prime.
Yeah I'll never say never but have to think if we decide to move him we can get more than what LA would offer for him....unless they can get a 3rd team involved.

Yeah, I think he declines too. But unless he's secretly unhappy or something happens, I'd also expect him to sign an extension with the Cavs as there haven't been any reports (at least not that I've seen) about him wanting out.

As, I think @Shanemansj13 pointed out, he'll consider how far the team has progressed and whether or not he thinks they can win. But the rebuild seems to be going well, so my money would be on him staying.

How I see it, too....I mean, look like they did in the playoffs last year and maybe that changes things. But I think they added some talent to help correct those flaws. Mitchell was also one of those who was a massive letdown so he'll need to step it up, too.

Like I've said several times if he's hell bent on NYC I'm doing what I can for a Bridges package.

sure....but I'm listening to all the offers and getting the best package regardless of where he wants to be (and, yes, it could be one with Bridges).

If it's my decision, I'm moving D-Lo and getting Murray. They'll still have 2 firsts to work with in the off-season. Not as good as 3, but depending on how things go the rest of the way, I may be able to put a better player or 2 in the deal and get a better return.

I do understand the logic behind waiting until the off-season though.

The "problem" with Lebron still playing at such a high level is it puts them in a position of trying to address immediate needs and still have a viable team around AD after Lebron retires or leaves. He's still good enough that they can win another title with him, but he's also 39, so they need to be considering the "post Lebron years" as well as the current team.

If the decision is to wait until the off-season...it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't serious contenders, but it does mean that they'd have to hope that D-Lo doesn't fall apart in a playoff series like he did vs Denver. Or that they can get help from the buyout market and Gabe Vincent plays like he did for the Heat last year. Not sure those options provide the best odds.
Got busy at work but this sums it up perfectly.

They have to try and go for it this postseason but at the same time they have to plan for their post James future. I mean he could decide to leave this summer possibly.

It's a tricky balancing act.

The whole deal with the Pistons losing will be clear on draft day. “With the 1st pick the Detroit Pistons select Bronny James”.
Issue solved for the Lakers.

If Nets are making a move for Mitchell why would they be getting rid of Bridges? It seems pretty inconsistent.

Yeah.

They would want to pair those 2 up together.

That’s why they need to sell Guys now

Life dfs Royce and even cam.

Pull at least 2 more future firsts to add the right guys around cam and bridges

Like Mitchell and embiid after process fails….again

The goal for BKN is pairing another star with Bridges. I said it before they turned down 4 1st's for Bridges from Memphis. I kinda doubt he is for sale unless someone gives a godfather offer
