Wtf is up with Votto? He's become about as unclutch as humanly possible.

6 runners on base in 4 innings with no runs. Good job boys.

And Choo delivers.

What the hell is our offense going to do next year without Choo?

Maybe his boyfriend dumped him? Maybe he's crazy again? Who knows....

Remember the beginning of last year when Votto could win a game by himself? Before the injury?

Those days are getting farther and farther away in the rearview mirror. All he does now is beg walks and slap the ball to left.

He's basically Sean Casey, with a better OBP and a worse personality

I don't need him to be personable. What he needs to do is drive the fucking ball into the gaps like he did before the knee.

I think he gives a shit, he stays angry with himself. He's thrown more than one tantrum lately after striking out looking.

I don't know what he did, and honestly if it was aimed at the Cards I don't care.

It's not like it's hard to figure out.

C Trent hurt his feelings by bringing up the fact that his OBP was the lowest of his Reds career. Facts hurt some of the sensitive souls on this ballclub. DatDude decided to personally attack him and make an ass of himself.

The Reds reporters are hacks. Let Brandon say what he wants. I am surprised no one has gone off on that fuckhead, Paul Daugherty yet.

I'd call someone a hack that was purposely baiting someone by questioning subjective things like "effort." But what C Trent questioned was his declining OBP -- Something that is completely relevant when considering moving Phillips around the lineup.

Would you rather the reporters just engage in the same jock-sniffing that occurs on all the twitter feeds?

This couldn't be further from the truth.

Fact is, we have some very competent reporters covering the Reds (and Bengals). Agree or disagree, Phillips acting like a little boy who was just told he wasn't the best at something and took his ball and wanted to go home.

What CTrent said was spot on, and a reasonable question. If you are worried about OBP in the #2 spot, why take Frazier out (.320 OBP) and put in Phillips (.310)? That's all CTrent said. Phillips decided he needed to get personal about it, interrupting Dusty's media interview to simply call out CTrent and call him a fat fuck.

Exactly.

DatDude couldn't handle the truth so he acted like a baby. It's really nothing new for him.

Philips has proven throughout his career that he can hit in the 2 hole. His job in the clean up spot so far this year, is to drive runs in, which he's been doing better than the majority of the league. Comparing the two like C. Trent is doing, is inherently flawed.

His slugging and OPS is also down relative to other parts of his career. His RBIs are more of a function of batting with guys on base (look at OBP of Choo and Votto) than some great approach he is taking at the plate. His hitting is not up to it's usual standard. Perhaps you could argue that the pressure changes when having to bat cleanup and that would be fair -- But it's also fair to ask if the guy just isn't getting it done like he did in the past due to injury (very possible as he lost momentum after being hit by a pitch) or other factors.
