Don’t really understand why but they are now showing the Rangers as co-favorites with Dodges and Giants to sign Ohtani
I think it comes with the Champion territory. It probably also doesn't hurt that the Rangers wanted him so much when he first came over. My son asked me this morning what I thought the chances were that we would get Ohtani. I told him that all depends on how much money they were willing to spend. If we decided to go all in on him, I would think we would be one of the favorites to get him.

I agree but a day or two ago the odds us being involved was about 150-1. Today the odds are 6-1

With the White Sox passing on Tim Anderson’s option, wonder if they would trade some good reliever(s) for a package around Duran
The White Sox already have a top prospect, Colson Montgomery, ready to play SS.

Only has 37 games at AA. They might want to give him more time in minors before thrusting him into the big time

Do you have any information that shows he hasn't made strides in these areas in the past year or two? Are you sure these issues are not being addressed?

What difference does my opinion of his progression, regression or stagnation actually make? None... (And neither does any other fans/scouts/reporters opinion either)...

What does make a difference is what the team sees, that question will be answered during the off season or maybe at the end of Spring training. Do they think enough of him to let Garver go without an offer  and even if they do bring Garver back will they try/not try to bring Hedges back

And now that there is a different atmosphere in Arlington (since they won the WS) will they be less willing to give him a shot or trade him for someone they think can help them stay atop the heap???

All to be answered in the upcoming 5 mos or so...

Some fans have their favorites and some are willing to let the chips fall where they may, I'm in the later category...

Maybe he helped Sborz a little too. I think so.
Didn't see it. He was sent back down to the minors for about the 3rd time and when he came back up he seemed to have it going on.

If I remember correctly Sborz thought overuse was a factor but I have zero idea of Maddux did anything

I do think Bochy faith In Sborz instilled confidence. Always thought he had the stuff but it seemed to be all mental

Real flip of the coin what goes on in the backup catcher spot. What we do with Garver to me is key but I don’t think we sign him. But if we do I think Huff is moved.
If not Huff may stay as back up and some DH/PH or would not be surprised if they resigned Hedges despite no bat for his defense
Or they may sign someone else entirely to back up

We do need a RHB off the bench. I like Justin Turner

Hard to think though we keep all of the rookies about to come up along with Huff

We’ll know a lot within the next 24-36 hours about what the Rangers are going to do

We have to clear multiple roster spots so we can add prospects we want to protect from rule 5 draft. Need to do it by the 10th. So any trades need to be done by the 7th

And some have players they have given up on and dislike as baseball players, often prematurely.
Like Huff Duran and Taveras. I think Huff needs more time. Most do not agree. Not so with Duran and Leody. They have had time to make a difference and have not made the grade.

Most haven’t give up on or dislike them as players but recognize that those players are good but are unlikely to break into a team’s roster because there are better players ahead of them or coming up behind them. Rangers have multiple players in that fix who find themselves stuck with no real chance to add advance.
