Wanted to let Brady go...That's why he gave him a 2 year $70 mil contract...Yup, because he wanted him gone.

Excited Oh Yeah GIF
Might wanna check into that, heard it was 15 mill for 1 season with bonuses and Brady wanted 2 years for 50 mill. Belichick's contract has him to be the highest paid employee and he makes supposedly 27 mill a year. If Kraft doesn't put his foot down and keep Brady, we most likely have 3-4, and he wanted to keep injury prone Jimmy G , who lasted 6 Q's here/ BB is a shitty coach and GM, just like a Rex Ryan, great OC. Bledsoe's injury saved BB\s career here 5-13. Bum has 1 playoff win in 11 seasons w/o Brady as QB and only made playoffs twice

I'm not going to refute any of that but do need to point out that the Matt Cassel-led 2008 Patriots were pretty damned good once Cassel got his legs about him. I still maintain that if the 11 and 5 Pats had made the playoff's that season they would've been a really tough out in the AFC. They were running on all cylinders towards the end of the season. The "Wild Cat" game was an aberration.

You are talking about a team who had 7 less wins. Cassel went to KC and they went in to the playoffs his first season either 10-6 or 11-5, don't remember. Guy is an avg coach, admit it. And look at the 08 record, think they only beat 1 team who went to the playoffs

You heard? You might want to listen closer...

On August 4, 2019, Brady signed a two-year contract extension worth $70 million through the 2021 season

I'm still waiting for your evidence to the contrary.

I know we didn't make the playoffs but I really enjoyed that offense once Cassel got comfortable. The AFC East was brutal that season.

Even before Tua and Josh joined the AFCE BB was below -500 in AFCE w/o TB guy is an ok coach and lousy OC and worse GM

No - He left in 2020 -after the 2019 season.
So did he walk off with a year left on that 2 year contract? If he signed for 2 in 2019 wouldn't he have been under contract until 2021?

FOUND MY ANSWER:

On August 4, 2019, Brady signed a two-year contract extension worth $70 million through the 2021 season;[376] the terms of the contract allowed Brady to become a free agent after the 2019 season.[377] Against the 2019 Patriots salary cap, Brady was the highest-paid player on the team at $21.5 million.[378] Belichick was unwilling to offer a longer-term deal that Brady sought.[379]

Do you read?

Where in either of those articles does it say they did not sign a 2 year $70 mil contract?

He was boobing because he was 43 and wanted a long term contract? If he had gotten hurt on a long term contract every dick beater with a passing interest in football would have skewered Bill for signing a 43 year old to a long term contract.
What did Bruce Arians sign him to? 5 years? 4? 3?

No. A 2 year contract for, get this, $50 mil.

Yeah, Bill really showed he didn't want Tom by publicly admitting there was no other QB he would rather have and signing that 2 year $70 mil...
