That third WC in each league really messes the deadline up.There are just too many teams not willing to sell at this point.

either Garver or Huff is going to be in the batting order no matter what they doWith Bellinger off the market, the pickings are pretty slim for hitters who would represent a definite upgrade over Grossman/Garver/Huff/Smith. Here’s who I might… might… consider:
Eloy Jimenez
Tyler O Neill
CJ Cron
Andrew McCutchen
Pretty mediocre list. There are just too many teams not willing to sell at this point. And the sellers don’t have anybody good they’re willing to part with.
True, but right now they’re also serving as DH. We can’t have that. One will be in the lineup, but we need to prevent both.either Garver or Huff is going to be in the batting order no matter what they do
That is better than Grossman in the #2 hole.either Garver or Huff is going to be in the batting order no matter what they do
Agreed but we need to concentrate on pitching first, second and thirdTrue, but right now they’re also serving as DH. We can’t have that. One will be in the lineup, but we need to prevent both.
Who do you put there? Snell is really tough on LH batters so it can’t be be Jankowski or Smith and Duran just can’t hit so unfortunately it doesn’t much elseThat is better than Grossman in the #2 hole.
Traveras is a switch hitterWho do you put there? Snell is really tough on LH batters so it can’t be be Jankowski or Smith and Duran just can’t hit so unfortunately it doesn’t much else
Okay but you would still see Grossman in the lineupTraveras is a switch hitter
Yes but not in the 2 hole and that was and is the point.Okay but you would still see Grossman in the lineup
Rather not see him at all but putting him in the bottom of the order would make it really bad. You would have Garver, Huff and GrossmanYes but not in the 2 hole and that was and is the point.
Usually does.Jung K's on dirt balls.
Toronto got him for 2 low-level prospects with not good stats (Kloffenstein & Robberse). Wonder what we offeredBlue Jays just traded for Hicks form the Cards
Blue Jays To Acquire Jordan Hicks From Cardinals
By Nick Deeds | July 30, 2023 at 2:36pm CDT
The Cardinals have begun their selloff by trading right-hander Jordan Hicks to the Blue Jays, per Craig Mish of the Miami Herald. The return headed back to St. Louis is not currently known. Hicks had previously been reported to be discussing an extensionwith the Cardinals ahead of the trade deadline on August 1, though those discussions seemingly stalled out earlier in the week.
