Take it for what it’s worth, because I don’t have sources any better than anyone else’s here, but the “insider” sites and accounts I follow are all saying this very thing.

They think we get both Verlander and Hicks. I no longer personally know anyone in MLB other than Perry Minasian (and I haven’t spoken to him in years), so my knowledge is very 2nd and 3rd hand these days.

Only 2 prospects I consider 100% untouchable are Carter and Walcott (and Langford, of course).

I’d also be mad if we dealt Porter or Acuna unless they fetched a huge difference maker. Maybe White, too.

That’s a really, really good question. He’s taken a step back this year from his dominant form, but lately he’s starting to resemble an ace again. Plus he’s young and under control.

I’m not savvy enough to suggest a package for him, but I would probably include one of Porter or Acuna along with one of Duran or Taveras (assuming we add a bat to replace them) as the centerpieces of the deal. With Evan Carter only a year or slightly more away, and Langford likely right there with him, we could afford to lose Taveras (or Duran).

They probably want a young mlb starter back so you would probably have to throw in Dunning or Bradford. If they don't have to have that then I would let them choose one of our prospect pitchers besides Porter and White. Or let them choose two if I could pull back another starter or two.

Then you fill it out with one or two of those guys I listed yesterday. I think I gave 16 names.
