Yeah, they played 8 guys.

Could've been 9 if Lebron had rested at all, lol. I'm surprised Brown Jr and Beasley didn't get some minutes somewhere after Walker had his moment (then largely disappeared). Hitting on the lottery game where Beasley gets hot could've been pivotal (but that's playing same bad odds, at least since he came to the Lakers this year).

Pelinka already said without specifically guaranteeing anything that they intend to bring back their young core for next season. That's Rui and Reaves for sure.

I know. But there is a spending limit. There has to be.

Right now, it's being said that Reaves is probably in the $10-12 million range. I think the Lakers do that in a heartbeat.

But, if someone offers in the $20 million range, which has been mentioned, it becomes a lot more problematic.

Regardless of what someone else offers, the Lakers only have to pay Reaves in that 10-12 range for the first 2 years of the contract (limited by the Arenas provision), then take a bigger hit in years 3 and 4.

That will depend on what those 2 guys command as FA's

I certainly didn’t remember him being the Wonderboy Reaves is,

He was "The Bald Mamba".

The Lakers weren't very good during his first few years and he was overshadowed when Lebron and AD came in. But Lakers fans loved him as much as we do Reaves.

I don't see them wanting his salary to double right when they are likely to be looking to sign a max level player or 2.

They won't want it, but they'll do it to keep him. Do they move him a few years down the line? Maybe.

Sure, thus his player option (for $50M) for '24/'25. If you think he's forgoing $50M to take $12M, I've got a bridge to sell you.
I will say this...I doubt he is in LA for two more years. One is a given

Smells like espn in here....nuggets sweep series and all anyone can talk about in this game thread is lebron and the lakers :pound:

Not enough Nuggets fans here to even it out. Plus, that was part of Lebron's trolling plan lol...

The only reason Ham being replaced even gets suggested is because of the names currently available. I don't think he's going anywhere (nor are any of the Lakers' key pieces, pending Lebron's "decision"), as Pelinka was quoted during exit interviews that continuity and continuing to develop the team that was just thrown together in February is the current plan forward.

With coaches like Williams, Nurse & Bud I can understand why. But considering how the Lakers started the season I thought Ham did a good job.

I mean, there are like 2 Nuggets fans here and one didn't really start posting in here until the playoffs started. Plus, the Lakers are a "glamour franchise" and have Lebron.

I'm actually impressed that it hasn't taken over 2 or 3 other threads.

It’s the epitome of a poverty fan base. Do you know that about half of their fan base for the past 3-4 years haven’t been able to gain access to the local telecasts of games because of a cable dispute? In a real sports city, the fans would have raised such a stink that would have been handled immediately.

If Lakers fans actually believed he was going to bypass almost $100M in salary over the next two years, it might get another thread lol. Just a diversion away from the sweep.

True. We Lakers fans have seen plenty of drama over the years.

These things just get a collective eyeroll at this point. lol

At least those of us with decades of being Lakers fans under our belts.

I think that's the difference between the Twitter Lakers fans and the ones here.

The ones here have been Lakers since at least Shaq/Kobe and a couple of us since The Logo, Wilt and Goodrich.
