if they lost 4-1 and just did not look soft Iwouldnt care as much

The problem they need to address is that they cant have all of the 3, 4 and 5 not be able to shoot a 3.....thats a problem in todays game. The other team can just pack the paint.

that is not a terrible problem to have- there are way worse. They are still in great shape with a great core and now have some experience and maybe a little chip on their shoulder.
I mean, Okoro can hit those corner 3s at a reasonable rate, but agree we need someone better as far as a shooter goes. He also was one of the only ones who brought it whenever he was out there.

Biggest problem to me, though, was Mitchell did not play like he was needed to play. Worse was he kept jacking up shots even when he couldn't hit them. The one game he took what was given he had 13 assists and we blew them out.

He will in two years. He's already mentioned it. I'm not saying he would take the minimum he would take the MLE. If it meant playing with his son...absolutely
This is trivially obvious, but not for the board's biggest Laker homer.

It's not for sure going to happen, but to say it's not because of contract size is retarded.

He got outplayed by Aaron Gordon in a close out game that Lebron put up 30 in the first half.

Shit, he was outhustled by Tristan “ baby factory “ Thompson for a quick minute.

His defense was stellar all postseason.

His offense was every other day to Davis.

That can’t happen.

What's a real bummer is I should be celebrating a Lakers sweep. But the Celtics are looking at the same thing tonight.

The one thing that irked me about Reaves (and many of the Lakers) is that they still felt the need to celebrate made threes as they were struggling and trailing. Get a sense of the moment please...
That’s just how it is now days, no awareness. There was a scene in Semi Pro where the team scored and as they were high fiving the other team just waltzed down the court with no one guarding them and got a layup. We aren’t far off of that at times.

Plus, they don’t need all those wings.

They are already trying to rid themselves of Collins.

Also, they extended Bogdon at the end of the year.

Don’t need Reaves.
I had this thought the other day. Someone is going to cost the Lakers a bunch of money because it is known there is no price the Lakers won’t match.

He is absolutely part of the problem.

But, not all of it.

TLance, Lebron is damn near 40.

If the Lakers are going to win another chip, Davis has to be the best player.

Shit, RuI out played him, as far as consistency goes.

He showed out game 2.

The rest?

He needed to give them MORE.

No doubt Davis has to be the guy.

But DLo is the real disappointment.

They needed to be able to run offense through him at times to let LeBron pick his spots.

Which is part of why I said benching him was a mistake despite how poorly he played. Roster construction just isn’t set up for 40 minutes from the 5 guys who did it all last night.

You sure?

They refused to pay Caruso just a couple years ago.

And I actually thought preseason expectations were higher for that group than what next year will be.

I’m pretty sure. He is the wonder boy, they aren’t letting him walk. I like the kid, he’s in a good spot and the Caruso stuff helps him really.

Disagree. It will depend on what he is offered.

They want him back, no doubt. They may even be willing to overpay him a bit.

But, they are going to be looking to keep/add players that they feel can get them to the finals next season. So they aren't going to hardcap themselves or overpay to the point that it prevents them adding a piece or 2 that can help.

Austin Reaves is a great story, a fan favorite and was a very important piece in the Lakers turnaround. But looking at it logically, there are guys they may be able to get who can provide what he does...likely for less.

I say they match regardless. The Lakers tend to act and deal with things later. We will find out soon enough I guess.
