Haven't seen that one and might be looking for another.
Watch the Movie first, if you haven’t already.

* not for kids *

TV show is like 30 years after the events of the movie.

With older versions of some of the characters with many new additions.

The Boston Bruins had a great reg season but choked in the playoffs.

Hockey is crazy like that.

Had a few years when the Red Wings were top dogs and they got bounced early by a hot goalie.

I doubt I'd watch the movie....anything else you'd recommend?

Actually started an older one - White Collar - I was liking. May just get back to that. Or Succession. also started it. Thought it was OK, but many seem to love it.

Hockey playoffs are almost purely random. Regular season/seeding means ZERO. Even less than baseball.

The goalie controls so much. If dude is going HAM there isn't much you can do. It's the equivalent of being able to start your best pitcher every game.

In this case it was the complete opposite. Their goalie (who allowed less than 2 per game) got the yips

Not so sure about that first part, depending who is grading. An actual team needing a QB? Then I agree likely true. Fake GMs like the so-called draft experts? I disagree. and real GMs don't tell anyone their draft grades.

Not this again.

The guys who do draft analysis in the networks are just as qualified as talent evaluators as real GMs are.

Many of them had Levis as a potential top of the draft prospect.

Whatever his “grade” he was one of the top 4 QBs in the draft. That is enough to be considered in the top 5-10 picks. Especially when 3 QBs go in the top 4.

He fell probably because something he did/said turned teams off.

Yes, and when you only have a handful of teams willing to invest in a qb in the first round to begin with it doesn’t take very many teams passing.

It’s absurd. Mind you, he’s not a pitcher and that makes a difference coming back from Tommy John but this is like 2 months ahead of schedule.

Does that mean 2 months of DH? He played DH thru the injury previously.

And 1B. He’s been taking grounders there. It’s a position where he’s not going to tax his arm the way he would RF. Additionally, with the Phillies losing Rhys Hoskins for the year due to a knee tear in spring training, the Phillies are short there.

Not what again? You are kind of making my point. The fake GMs/analysts will not put QBs higher in their grades when they give their overall rankings. But as you mentioned, real GMs who need a QB likely would.

Might be more but I've seen one fake GM become a real GM for the Raiders. Didn't go so well. But, sure, real GMs have failed, too.

Just the overall idea of:

“We don’t know how GMs value players”

We don’t know how an individual GM values players. We have a pretty good idea of how the market values them. Because there are a lot of highly qualified talent evaluators who don’t work for teams and publicly post their draft ranks.

Yep......and they do not rank QBs higher than they should. The real GMs who need a QB would.

My comments are not to diminish fake GMs. at least not all of them.

Then what are you arguing?

Semantics again?

Doesn’t matter where guys are graded. QBs go higher because it is a premium position.

Many people thought Levis was going in the top 10.

I was only disagreeing with the notion teams really believed Levis is a top 5 talent but shied away until round 2. My opinion is if he never made a peep to anyone he still does not get picked much sooner.
