I honestly didn't think I would be disappointed by anything at pick 12. Still a handful of guys on the board who I would have liked at 6. Lions always find new ways to break my heart.

This a tweet from Jim Costa, sorry not able to link directly…

Since 2004 there have been 39 first round RB selected

Those backs combined for 44,544 carries and averaged 4.26 yards per carry. The league average in that span is 4.2YPC

1st round RB are no better than league average RB

I dont dislike either Lions pick. I just hate where both were taken. If Gibbs was taken at 18 and Campbell at 34 plus add in a Van Ness or Gonzales, or even JSN I would be happy with their draft. And I absolutely think they would havebeen there at those picks.

Not sure you are wrong. The Gibbs pick seemed like a huge reach, and a rather pointless one too. I don’t think Campbell lasts to the second, but who the hell knows this year

You can't expect one guy to take all the pounding for a 17 game season. Not as much as we're going to run the ball.

This was more a statement on Swift.

Then take a back in the 3rd round....12th overall is ridiculous.

Swift will become more of a 3rd down back and probably wont be resigned.

I think that was a given after last season, and a certainty now.

I really thought we would take Kancey at that point. We passed on both Carter and Wilson in order to trade back which is good but it looks like we reached on both our first 2 picks. Campbell would have most likely been there at 34 too. That leaves Mazi and Benton. That might be the pick next. Or maybe Banks.

Honestly, I have no idea where they are going now, I just know I'm not happy with the overall direction. This was a shit first round considering the position, the way the draft fell and needs.

Seriously, a fucking RB at 12....so pissed.
