Moral of the story; don't draft a QB of the future instead of weapons for your future HOF QB in his prime. They should've dealt him years ago, this has been fractured ever since that draft pick.

I can see both sides of the issue.

On the one hand, you have an aging QB who is still playing at a high level and he's not going to be happy when the team is basically drafting his replacement.

On the other, the QB needs to understand that he has more years behind him than in front of him and understand that the team needs to think about their future.

Related note, sticking point in the Jets trade is apparently that they want a safety valve (conditional '25 pick) included in case Rodgers only plays one season. Otherwise, the deal is currently '23 2nd and '24 2nd (that could become a 1st if the Jets hit certain performance escalators).

@dtgold88 @Wamu @WiggyRuss Finally paying their players, good to see. Stephan and Kwan likely next guys extended. Ramirez and Gimenez and Clase is a great start.

About time Dolan opened up the pocket book.

A question. Does minority owner David Blitzer have any say in things yet or is that a couple years down the road?

Other than JRam wouldn't say "finally" paying their players as they've always been willing to extend the guys through arbitration and some FA years.

JRam different, of course, as he was the first big deal they offered to someone when he was not going to be under team control. Next we'll see if Rosario is extended (as that would be like JRam).

Will say I love deals like these even though only resigning our own guys. These deals are so much better for a team than the Harper-like megadeals.

To be fair, he opened it up bigtime to keep JRam last offseason. I cannot stand the Dolan model but cannot really complain about anything they've done since last season as even though many of the players are not making much I'm not sure who I'd want to see replaced.

Forgot about JRam. Would have been really disappointed had they not kept him around.

I just hope more Guardian games will be televised out here this season.

Rough season? They still got Mookie & Freddie. Added JD and pitching is still great. The only team with better odds than them to win it all is Houston

Might be a rough fucking season after the Dodgers let people walk....

I think they're fine. They have players coming back from injury/surgeries and some emerging players as well. Some of the guys that left weren't exactly carrying their weight (namely Bellinger).
