Raptors aren’t a bad team.

There record should be better.

Not sure what the disconnect is.
Could be a cohesion issue..or an inconsistency thing...but your guess is as good as mine.
To be fair though, they also played last night..and beat the Kings in Sac..so maybe they just ran out of gas?
It happens. B2B's can be brutal. Personally I wish the league would do away with them.

Was Allen out tonight? It doesn’t compute that people shoot threes so well vs Cavs when you guys have the rim protection you have. If it’s me, the benefit to having that is to get out on shooters not scared of drive by because you have mistake erasers behind it in Allen and Mobley.

Sure it does.

Their starting guards aren’t great defenders and both 6’1.

I don’t care how much you get out on shooters, a contest from a 6’1” defender just isn’t the same as a contest from a 6’6” player.

When they go big, it is a tough ask to expect their bigs to chase shooters off the 3 point line.

Even good defensive teams have weaknesses. This will likely always be Cleveland’s with this core.

@Mecca

My bad....I got the dates wrong.

After further review....lol
The Raps weren't playing a b2b....they played on Wed night in Sac.
But that said....now they actually do have a b2b....after losing to the Dubs on Friday, they play in Portland on Saturday.

Just wanted to clarify.

Fair point. I forgot about that dynamic with their guards.

It seems to be a trend but also they have been extremely unlucky. Even on contests (any player contest), teams were shooting sometging crazy like 50%. I think it is more about positioning and rotation then small guards. I have seen multiple contests by Mobley and Allen recently where players make it every time. It seems every team seems to shoot their best vs CLE. It just doesn’t make sense their defense overall is top 3 but the worst defending the 3.
You don’t see Portland giving up that outrageous %. The funny thing is most teams that leave guys wide open have worse % than the Cavs do contesting shots.

It’s on Bickerstaff and some terrible luck

Not to mention Bickerstaff seems to make zero to no adjustments during a game. That’s why teams go off in the 3Q. There is no reason the Cavs should be struggling to score at times and having long droughts even when guys are out. I like Bickerstaff but a lot of Cavs fans think he is overrated and isn’t that good of a coach. If this team drops to a play-in team all fingers will be pointed his way

Fans are just so dumb though.

If fans are dumb what does that make the four players that voted for Holmgren to start?

To me that kinda vote is worse than some random fans vote.

Voting for someone that hasn't scored a point is making a mockery of the voting process.

Yeah, you add a 30 ppg scorer and your stats don’t decrease a single iota.

Slump City.

FOH

This is Mobley's "sophomore slump".

He's averaging slightly more pts, rebs, asts. His FG% is up & his FT% is up from last season. He's also taking slightly less shots than last season, 12.0 last season & 11.3 this season.

The person that said that is a complete dumbass and has had Cleveland issues for multiple years now. So his opinion of Mobley comes with alotta bias.

People were calling me a hater when I offered up this perspective with the trade. Mobley has great all around game and as a result he tends to defer and let others do. Maybe the big splash Mitchell move came a year or two too early in the process. I think Mobley’s upside is a 20-25 shot a game three level scorer and a defender that can guard all 5 positions. Not sure his arc will be as quick as it could have been if they went into this season planning for him to be the number 2 option to Garland. Time will tell though. Great coaching could help him push through and still get him back on his rise.

Sounds about right to me.

He hasn’t plateaued.

But, he has deferred to the backcourt.
