I think when it came to the Bills and that story, it kinda was. Now that the Bengals hosed that matchup, I don't think it is that narrative so much anymore.
I think even the thing vs. the Bills was overblown somewhat. Personally, I thought the Bengals would win, just not as handily as they did. I never really bought into all the Bills hype, especially late in the season. They really haven't played all that well but Allen just made enough big plays for them to keep winning. They were a somewhat better version of the Vikings the second half of the season and were lucky Miami was playing a 3rd string QB or they might have lost that game too.

They went from an elite passrush with Miller to bottom tier without. That and injuries in the secondary and there was a lot of blood in the water for either the Bengals/Chiefs or some other AFC team to circle around. They'll need to get younger and quick or the roster advantage they've enjoyed in the AFC the past 2-3 years will evaporate. Likely in favor of the Bengals and Chiefs.

Additionally: I hate using the word soft- but they kinda are. Or they're just terrified of their own secondary which is its own problem.

As I've been listening to the nonstop radio talk about the Niners here in SF, I've decided the Niners are in fairly big trouble Sunday. Anything can happen but I think it's unlikely the Eagles lose. Only chance SF has is establishing the run early (which they could not do against Dallas) and owning the time of possession.

I think no way Eagles lose those this and with that point spread. 50 degree weather on Sunday; the team and fans will be at their crazy best.

It's not 100%, all 4 teams left are too good to have no shot. But it feels like an Eagles win.

I already posted the pathway to a Niners victory. They need to scour that second Washington game tape. That’s the blueprint. You essentially play stall ball willing to accept 1-2-3 yard gains with the run to churn clock and keep the defense on the field. McLaurin was all Washington had for Heinike to go to make plays on 3rd down. The Niners have 4 guys that can get a favorable matchup on any 3rd down. The Niners are built for this unexciting brand of football. I’m sure they won’t care about entertainment if they’re punching a ticket to the Super Bowl.

Philly has cheesesteaks.

S.F. has clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.

It's probably good but cheesesteaks >>>> clam chowder.

I tend to agree on the soft part. Considering they have a defensive HC and Leslie Fraser, it's a little surprising to me. Von going down definitely exposed their biggest weakness which is still the defensive front. Von still tied for the team lead in sacks with 8 in 11 games. And the rest of the Dline did nothing without his presence. The secondary injuries just compounded the issue. That #2 scoring defense ranking was a lot of smoke and mirrors and just blowing teams out early on. Also playing the Pats and Jets twice helped.

P.S. Their cap situation is no longer favorable either. Allen and Diggs cap hits double to 60 mil

Yep, it's what they did in 2019 and almost did last year and they just don't care. All the rook has to do is protect the ball and they always have a chance. They will ride their defense and hope the offense does enough to give them breathers and maybe pop a couple plays. I give your boys a slight edge just due to HFA and QB advantage but this thing could go either way with one or two plays.

Ain't gonna lie... a good cheesesteak is pretty much the best thing ever. We have a chain in the Bay Area called "The Cheesesteak Shop". They import Amoroso rolls and Tasty Cakes. I eat there at least once a month.

Yeah, They're currently co-favorites with the Chiefs for next year's SB, but given the flexibility the Bengals and Chiefs have and the ability to improve/maintain their rosters, I think we'll be talking about the Bills being passed up in odds sooner or later going into September.

With that being said. Much more concerned with this year's SB for obvious reasons.

Good point... much more comparable. I'd still prolly pick a cheesesteak over a super burrito on most days. But damn... there are some good taquerias out there.

I've always liked cheesesteaks. That Cheesesteak Shop sounds good.

Good deal. Are they loaded burritos?

Not being familiar with like 99% of Cali I typed in- what is SF's signature food. That clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl popped up.

The taqueria-style "super burrito" was invented in the Mission District in SF. They are the real-deal full meal in a flour tortilla. Meat, cheese, beans, crema, rice, pico de gallo, guac. They weigh like three pounds.

SF is where the giant burritos wrapped in tin foil that you eat with your hands (vs on a plate with sauce on top) were invented, they're called "Mission-style" burritos, and are still a lot more prevalent out West. They are glorious (obviously like any food some places make them badly).
