Spent about $14k on solid maple kitchen cabinets, another $4.5k for Quartz counter tops.
I'm in the final phase of installation of $12K cabinets and $7K quartz countertops. the final fancy trim and the decorative end pieces for the twin angled bar area haven't been finished at the shop yet. The countertops will be installed in 1 hour and 50 minutes.

I'm still looking for a professional to do the backsplash Like Traveler said, cheap backsplash will make everything look cheap. That and I have a
5 ft x 9 ft window over the sink that lets in so much light that any tiny imperfection is magnified.

Yeah you need a good installer we too have a lot of natural light which was by design. I have a tile guy he uses these plastic cup and screw things that pull the tile tight somehow. I have also sanded and removed and built up hardcoat already creating a pretty smooth surface. Not sure that was necessary as there will be some sort of thin set applied.

Ceramic window tint.
Cuts the glare as all window tint will, cuts the heat by 70-90% depending on brand/quality. And it is available in varying levels of tint. With the ceramic, even a light tint will keep the heat out.
In Florida? Definitely ceramic.
Increases security too. during the day it will increase privacy from any peepers and at night a motion sensor flood light will do essentially the same thing, reflecting light off the tint so lights on inside cannot shine through. Makes the windows much tougher to break as well.

I HIGHLY recommend it.
For the electric bill alone.

I can't f*ckin' believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Installers just showed up with all of the quartz. And it's not what we ordered.

Completely different color and design. It's all cut to our exact cabinets.

And temporary counter tops are never the same. What did they say? Remember it's not the installers fault.

When I did mine, they made sure I went to the stone cutters yard and selected the piece I wanted and they marked it in front of me (and the wife, got what she wanted...) including laying out the cuts to eliminate imperfections etc.
That way there is no question about which piece we selected.

I took pictures too.

Not sure if you wee able to do the same?

Yeah that works if you are using a local stoneworks place. I ended up ordering from Lowe's and oddly enough my stone place in 300 miles away

Yeah, we ordered ours from Lowes in Clarksville , TN and had to go to the stone cutters on the southside of Nashville, TN....50 mile trip maybe?

Not a big deal, we go to Nashville semi often and It really did give me peace of mind.
Really good people there too, so...Always refreshing to do business with good people.

Woman at the shop admitted that she got the final order incorrect. Problem is that my wife went out to the shop a second time to confirm the quartz that she wanted. The woman got busy and got the wrong quartz. She got pissed when my wife told her that their insurance will cover the mistake.

Problem is that the woman runs around all day and has to run from the office to the yard to the store room to the cutting shop. As busy as they are, they need another person helping her. I think they're all family and don't want outsiders knowing their business.

They're already redoing the counter templates. Just another f*cking week without a kitchen sink and now another week without a dishwasher because the plumber and electrician have to work together to get all of the stuff working together. Ripped out all of the old "shit" work and have all new connections. AAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

All things being equal, the temps are being done right now. They have the stone already being moved to the shop. Maybe they can start cutting today and finish tomorrow. Knowing the owner, he'll want to get us done ASAP so that we won't give him a bad review. Worst case, I would say Monday or Tuesday unless the shop is out straight.

Nope. Been doing dishes in my bathroom sink. Swipe everything as clean as possible with toilet paper and toss it in the trash and wash the dishes and glasses very carefully and place them equally as careful on a towel. No stacking.

If they get it done that quick it's obvious they do care. We all make mistakes being able to forgive people of those mistakes makes us better humans. If it's a mistake and they go above and beyond to make right I would not hammer them on the review
