If you can’t beat good teams at their best then why bother ? I want the team to REALLY be the best not some fake crap . There is no pride in being a paper champion

Right but step 1 is to get into the playoffs and hope you play well in the playoffs is step 2. Doesn't matter how you get into the playoffs, if you show up in the playoffs that is what really matters. Look at Dallas last year. Sure they went 12-5 then got beat first round. Why? b/c they didn't play well in the playoffs. Look at all the hype they got during last season, then layed and egg. Point being whether you are 12-5 or 9-8 going into the playoffs, its doesn't matter who you beat or didn't beat in the regular season. You have to show up in the playoffs.

There have been times, teams backed in the playoffs and won a playoff game. Anything can happen in the playoffs. An average team can beat a good team. Upsets happen all the time.

This is what is confusing to everyone Dean. Nobody really thinks that way. You also failed to answer my CLE game question about being prepared.

You continue to conflate "March Madness" with NFL playoffs. The NFL playoffs are not "March Madness".

Any coach or GM in the league drives to run through the finish line and go into the playoffs clicking on all cylinders. Players and coaches aim to be in sync and on a streak. You continue to point to the 2021 Bengals, but you fail to mention that they won the AFC North and were 3-1 heading into the playoffs. The SB champs, LA Rams, were 5-1 going into the playoffs. Any coach would want to come in "hot". You are implying that it doesn't really matter as you simply need to get in. Backing in or performing at a high level makes no difference. This is incorrect.

You continue to say you "don't care how we get there" and "you will take anything" and it comes across as a desperate emotional plea of a depressed fan. You have literally said "anything can happen" about 100 times and you are beating a dead horse with it. Of course anything can happen but this is not Madden. As such, the likelihood of it happening is extremely low.

If you are putting your chips on the table for a Commanders playoff win, I would think twice. Rivera is 3-5 in the playoffs and Wentz is 0-1. Neither of those would come across as confident to me.

There again, if you continue to die on the hill of "lets just make the playoffs as anything can happen", I would start gambling if I were you. Hit up the boats and start buying lotto tickets. Remember, "anything can happen". See you at the slots!!!!!!!

Agree, you must "show up" in the playoffs. We are in trouble because Rivera and Wentz "struggle" showing up in the playoffs.

Kind of is like March Madness. Its one game. The Bengals won the division when Lamar Jackson was hurt. You think that matters? I got my bet o nteh table that we win over 7.5

Now you are changing the subject again. You continue to talk about the playoffs and now are changing to getting over 7.5 wins. Those are 2 separate issues. Putting money down on a season record vs the playoffs is different. Would you bet on the Commanders in the playoffs vs the Rams or Bucs in a WC game?

I don't think you watch the games to be honest as March Madness and the NFL playoffs are different. I think you are emotionally attached to us making the playoffs and simply winning one game.

You did NOT answer my question about CLE again. The Bengals did win the division, but I doubt they were praying for Jackson to be out and celebrating when he was. That is not how it works Dean.

Which scenario best helps us as a team?

It helped cincy win the division by Jackson being out. Simple as that. I watch the games. I compare March Madness to the NFL b/c its one and done and no series like other sports. Anything can happen in the NFL IM emotionally attached to winning as any fan should.

I am sorry, I am not following as usual.

It helped Cincy yes, but I don't think players/coaches want teams to be at less than 100% just to get a pity win. Cincy is a great team and I am sure they would have wanted BAL at 100% to beat them outright. You are on the other side of the argument and are celebrating the fact that Watson might not play. For the FOURTH TIME, does Watson being out help us prep better or NOT for the playoffs?

Anything can happen but it rarely does in the NFL playoffs.. The NFL playoffs are the best of the best. March Madness has teams of all calibers so its not really the same. There are teams from smaller schools/conferences and larger schools are NOT familiar with them.I think its foolish to pray to get in the playoffs each year in the name of "anything can happen".

I am a logical thinker and fan, not an emotional fan, and want to enter the playoffs prepared and ready. Instead of "anything can happen", I prefer the "We Want Dallas" mentality, not the "We Want the Easier Game" attitude. We are better than you and we know it! I don't pray for injuries, hope for a miracle, or celebrate suspensions fan. That is the difference between you and I.

Again, would you get on the 2022 Commanders in a playoff game against the Bucs or Rams? You failed to mention the NCAA D2 playoffs and the MLB WC games as survive and advance.

Watson being out means we have a better shot at winning and making the playoffs. Common sense really. All fans want to win at any costs.

You obviously didn't answer the question, which is no surprise as it doesn't fit your narrative. You hardly if ever answer a direct question and look to cause a distraction.

It makes no sense to make the playoffs just to get stomped. You continue to say "anything can happen" and cannot come up with another reason why we would succeed in the playoffs or regular season. By your logic, I should run for President of the United States, apply to be the CEO of General Motors, or attempt to make contact with aliens. Anything can happen right?

DCRising, Skinsdad, and I have disagreed with you, so I guess it's not "common sense". I find it odd that you always list a caveat with our season. The easy schedule, Watson being out, etc. I don't think you have ever really said that we can go toe to toe with anybody with all things being equal. There again, you are claiming that Dallas will get 12 wins, Philly will get 11 wins, and WSH will get 11 wins.

No, I don't want to win at any costs. Cheating, praying for other players to get injured, begging for an easier schedule, etc. I want to win the right way. That is the big difference between you and posters. Again, posters on here actually would chant "We Want Dallas". You would be the one saying "We Want Houston".

Speaking of which, there is now a vote on the general NFL board about your boy Wentz that you might find interesting. I would love to get your opinion on that and the Friday Washington Post report as shown below. I posted the article for your reference.

Wentz update

Wentz has looked up and down all camp, and he noticeably struggled Friday. It was most apparent during seven-on-seven. In past practices, Wentz has usually shined in seven-on-seven, even when he has later struggled during drills with a pass rush (nine-on-nine or 11-on-11). But on Friday, Wentz missed several easy throws in seven-on-seven, including a short in route to Terry McLaurin that Wentz skipped behind the receiver.

Even when offensive coordinator Scott Turner tried to scheme easier looks for Wentz, like on play action or a bootleg, he couldn’t find a rhythm. Once, as defensive end Montez Sweat chased down Wentz on a bootleg, Sweat yelled something that could be interpreted as a taunt or genuine advice: “Get rid of it! Get rid of it!”

I know you are going to point out all of Wentz's struggles during camp b/c you want him to fail. Yes its common sense fans want to see the team win. Not bash the team like you. You dont know if a team will get stomped in the playoffs. Teams pull upsets all the time and you refuse to admit it. duke, go hate somewhere else. This board is for fans of the team. Its so obvious you are not a fan.
