I just went through the schedule & that is how it ended up. Granted there are a lot of close games where the games could end up different.

As a Seahawk fan, I don’t have much optimism for this year. If the 2 predictions mentioned earlier, we draft #6 or better in one and 4th or better in the other.
Seattle has 2 #1’s and 2 #2’s in next years draft. A QB of the future is within reach.

I guess Chiefs fans should be flattered the team is getting so much attention. I'm kinda surprised you aren't paying attention to the NFL favorite Bills.

I'd also say that if Trey Lance is a top 15 QB than the Niners are winning the SB. I do like the idea of him busting, though.

This shouldn't be the Chiefs year. Chiefs roster is pretty mid. But Mahomes lifting that roster to a SB would be quite something

I always hate that word dynasty being thrown around. A team wins a Super Bowl with a young QB and boom "Are they in a dynasty?" How about they win a 2nd before we start having that talk? Peyton Manning might have been the best QB to ever play and only captured 2 Super Bowls because unfortunately he ran into the same era as Tom Brady/Bill Belichick.

Mahomes is running into an era now that it just got tougher. The AFC is stacked with great QB's. One could argue 7-8 of the top-10 QB's are now in the AFC. The path to the Super Bowl is going to be brutal every year for the next possibly 7-8 years (the prime of Mahomes).

Peak brutality this year imo. Not sure Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson have 7-8 years of top play in them. Bengals and Chargers paying their players will take them down a peg, too. If Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams elevate their teams its probably only for a couple of years.

Chiefs being great this year would be a serious blow to a lot of teams

I wasn't talking so much about Lamar and Wilson being good for that long, but you still have a lot of young QB's that should be in the league a long time in the AFC. Burrow, Herbert, Mahomes, Allen, I hate putting his name here but possibly Watson, and then my guess is one of Lawrence/Jones will emerge from that rookie group to at least be a top half of the league starter. Most of those guys should be around for a while so the reality is it comes down to team building.

I honestly do still expect the Chiefs to be good this year. The others in the division have some bigger changes either at QB, HC, or both and could take some time to adjust. Chargers could hit the ground running, but I'm not a huge believer in some of the FA's they signed to live up to the hype. The thing about having a great QB is it almost guarantees you make the playoffs every year: Manning/Brady/Big Ben/Rodgers/Wilson. It is the rest of the team that matters more once you get into the playoffs. So again I fully expect the Chiefs to be in the playoffs this year and for many years to come. To me if they want to be considered a dynasty it takes at least 3 Super Bowls within about a 15-year period. Mahomes is great and will go down as one of the all-time greats. To get himself mentioned among the top-3 guys to ever play though I think that is what he will need to accomplish.

Has big “are the Chiefs done as they go to 12-5 and at least the Divisional” energy.

I think each divisional matchup for the Chiefs is a bit different. I dont think its purely a test for Mahomes to make the playoffs.

Raiders are a team that looks impossible to cover but their oline is kinda trash so teams will play them conservatively. I think Raiders were bad in 3rd down and goal line situations last year. Bend but dont break. Then attack the Raiders secondary on the other end. Same thing the Chiefs have been seeing for a few years except the Raiders dont have Mahomes and their oline should be even worse.

Chargers are a team that is going to have to be punished for being too aggressive. Secondary play seems paramount against them. Take away the quick throws and the situational football becomes much harder.

Denver is going to get tested on how good their receiving corp actually is. Denver seems like the most balanced team in the division so I suspect beating Denver will just come down to stars making plays.

I think teams are going to try and force KC to run the ball knowing that they wont and KC's secondary will get tested like always. Since Dirty Dan was always getting play time, there is a real chance that Thornhill might suck. I dont think KC will be looking at 2 deep shells anymore but teams will still play against the pass.

Can't argue with your asessment of KC.
As far as Buffalo, Their time is coming.
Mahomes is awesome whether this is an up year or down.

Those divisional games should be one heck of a game. I agree with the thoughts on each of these teams. I see a path to any of them winning the division and heck even see those that just make the playoffs being some of the best well tested teams and going on a run like Cincy last year.

Chiefs definitely deserve the hype they have gotten and continue to get. They have been the champions and one of the most consistent teams especially in the playoffs. Like I said though I think the path for them is getting tougher. Big cap hits for Mahomes, aging stars like Hill/Kelce, and then all the outside the team themselves things going on with other young QB's/Teams emerging. Going to be really tough to continue that streak of making it to the AFC Championship. My biggest issue with the original article we are talking about is that word Dynasty. I just don't think that convo should start until the 2nd Super Bowl trophy is hoisted. People started that early with Wilson and the Seahawks where they came one play away from winning back-to-back. Obviously we saw the drop off after that for them. Chiefs are in a better place and have a smarter FO in my opinion so I think they will give a tougher run at it than Seattle did after that, but just shows why the parity in the NFL exists.

On the NFC, I believe either the Rams or Buccaneers make the Super Bowl. On the AFC, I've not a clue. I do think the Colts are a major sleeper with Matt Ryan on the team and I don't think they are getting enough credit. I do think they will give Tennessee a swift kick in the ass and win the division. Then you have Chargers, Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs, Dolphins, Bills, Bengals, Ravens - some even say Cleveland. I'm sure I'm missing some. As good as the AFC west is, someone won't make it. Right now, I think the Chargers win the west and either the Chargers, Colts or Bills make the Super Bowl. This will be exciting to watch.
