So who was in Harden’s situation and came out and played 100%?
Well not many players force their way out midseason so that is a very short list, actually I can't think of one player in the history of the game that gave up on two teams midseason and then didn't put up full effort. One time? There are a handful, like Mecca mentioned AD. The fact is he gave up on two teams, I don't want that player on my team. It's not just one incident, it's many. It's why people called it a huge red flag especially when that bs happens in the playoffs. No excuses for that.

The Rockets were trying to win and that’s why they brought in John Wall? The Nets were trying to win with Kyrie only playing road games?

Yes. Jusdt because something happens involving a different player, doesn't mean the team wasn't trying to win when they got Harden and it doesn't excuse him tanking on them.

What if Kyrie had missed those games because of injury?

Kobe Bryant.

Demanded a trade. The Lakers told him they weren't trading him. He played 100%, the team performed better than expected, Pau Gasol was traded for and they went to the finals.

Kid has worked his butt off to see it pay off.
And honestly he hasn’t gotten anywhere near the playing time he will on a better team. He is a guy that can be counted on, Thunder trying to find as many like that as possible.

Anthony Davis in NOLA.

The team forced him to sit to protect against injury.

Like Harden, Jimmy Butler ( Minny) and Kawhi (Spurs) just totally sat out to force a trade.

The problem some have is that Harden has done it twice.

The issue I have with Harden is that he has been completely “me first” for most of his career.

He totally forced his way out of Houston. The rebuild has turned out better for Houston than had he tried and they had kept him. So mutually beneficial there.

As for Brooklyn?

I think pretty clear he wasn’t giving full effort. But I do think there is a difference between playing disinterested basketball and trying to be bad.

And if we are being totally honest, I am not sure I blame him for being disinterested in Brooklyn last year. What a hot mess!

In the laundry list of grievances I have against Harden, I don’t have the way he left either place all that close to the top.

Also, his record in playoff go home games is abysmal. Taking 2 or 3 shots in a half in a go home game when you are the main scorer? Come on.

I think the Kings landed the guy who fits their current roster best.

Normally, you take the best player available if you are a bottom feeder.

We saw how wrong it went when they didn't take Luka or Trae just because they had Fox on the roster.

Ivey looks like the guy with the most upside.

But, I really think the Pistons and Kings ended up with the correct player.

I think a Sabonis/Keegan frontcourt can really work.
Murray is never going to be flashy or do a move that drops your jaw to the floor

But because his hand is so controlled and he always makes the right past, he can shoot and he doesn't depend on pure athletic ability you can probably pencil him in for 20 and 8 every night for the next 10+ years with potential to maybe even bump that to 23/24

Yep.

That would be high on my list.

Along with the way he interacts with teammates, the way he completely dominates the ball, and the way he seems to not work as hard as he could to stay in shape.

See I was going to go the other way on AD. His PPG and his shooting percentage was down. It wasn’t a considerable drop. Jimmy was a horrible teammate once he wanted out of Minnesota. That urban legend of him blowing up their practice is pretty well known.

Is that what happened though? If Kyrie was injured and not bat shit crazy Harden is likely still a Net. Kyrie tanked their season. That’s not on Harden.
