This guy has been given more chances than he deserves. He gives back little. He has been given more excuses than anyone. Maybe he just was a mistake and is not a MLB calibre player.

they would have to pay his full salary for the rest of the season + throw in at least 3 prospects (2 of which would have to be in their top 20)

Here is what a Competitive balance pick, after the first round. would cost. This is Atlanta's #1and #23 prospect. Waters is their #1 prospect, but he isn't in theMLB top 100.

For us that might equate to Dustin Harris, Ragans and a lesser prospect.

With that in mind, I am all for the Rangers trading for a pick either after the first round or after the second. We could afford one after each round if need be.

The Padres pick is 4 behind the Royals so the price would be a little less if we made a deal with them.

I wonder if the Yankees would have to send a prospect along with Gallo for a lesser prospect from us? In essence, paying us with a better prospect for them getting out from under the last $5 million he is owed for the year.

That was my thought if money is an issue.
Rather get rid of one vet so playing time is less an issue

We don't really need him, but if we can benefit from the deal by paying the $5 million then I might be interested. Of course, I just see him as a disappointing player and not the menace to society that some see him as.
