I think most of us had some question about how this would work out, but thought that maybe KD could help keep him sane. Turns out, he's a bit of an enabler.

I don’t know.

Pretty sure most of us said this was the reason it wouldn’t work. Kyrie is crazy and KD is not a leader.

Only the fools like Dorian and LeBronJames were saying this was a can’t miss superteam dynasty.

And the most crazy thing of all is that it still could work if the Nets just stay the course.

And then trade Kevin Durant for Tyler Herro, some salary filler and a few first round picks right after.

Looks like the blueprint they are working from.

lol

Sure does. I think most of us thought this would at least end up with Kyrie opting in to see what he, KD and Simmons could do together. But that is looking less likely by the day.

Just as with Laker trades obviously Miami does not have the pieces they are willing to part with that would compete with what other teams would offer.

Kd is under contract. He can't force Brooklyn to take a shitty deal just because.

Uh….

It is pretty clear.

He and Kyrie signed as a package deal. KD does not sign in Brooklyn without Kyrie. In fact, signing there was Kyrie’s idea. There is even video footage from the all star game with Kyrie talking to KD about “2 max spots”.

If you want to keep KD, you have to also keep the reason he signed with you in the first place.

I mean he said they didn’t try to understand kyrie

They let him rest

He got plenty of time to get into game shape.

They still got waxed in the playoffs

Kyrie getting extra rest is not what sank their playoff run

Yeah it is definitely more likely they would get kyrie

Miami? Why would Miami want anything to do with Kyrie? He is the polar opposite of Heat culture.

Mostly becuase they likely won’t have the best offer for either but kyrie has the ability to force himself there…much like jimmy butler did

I don't get KD claiming that the Nets didn't try to understand Kyrie. I don't recall them complaining or trying to force him to play. The only thing they did was not pay him for games he chose to not play in.

Can't really blame them for not wanting to give him a long term, max deal. If the vaccine mandates are still in place, they're looking at another season of him being available for less than half of their games.

And when has he shown that he would be willing to participate in Heat culture? He may need it, but first he'd have to accept it.

Besides, the Heat apparently require their players to be vaccinated...so that alone would prevent it.

So much for DJ’s theory.

Nets are so stupid.
Makes it hard to tell management you are good with trading him when you haven't spoken to them in weeks.

Also, if he Nets are going scorched Earth and have to get rid of both, it will be to the highest bidders.

Who gives a fuck about anyone's " preferred list" if you have to trade Durant too?

Looking forward to Kyrie opting out and taking a pay cut of 25 mil, sliding across the hall with the Knicks for that same amount he would have lost (25 mil ) or getting dealt someplace undesirable and making that team as miserable as he is.
* Think Kings or Timberpups*

Either way, entertainment level will be high.

The Heat culture won't change Kyrie's ways. This is the same fella that was fine in Cleveland, then had an issue. He was fine in Boston, then had an issue. And he was fine in Brooklyn, then had an issue.

You know what would be good for him? A physiatrist.

Yeah.

Miami isn't the spot for him. Now if Miami could get KD.....that'd be sick.
