Looks like so far its all the old guys. I'm hoping more of the top players will follow.
Three days and Shwarble makes $4M for winning in London and an extra $750K for being on the winning team. Me thinks that more guys will be on the LIV tour pretty quick.

Guys born after 1995 don't give a rat shit about rules that were made in 1895. They want a high speed, high reward game and don't want thirty six officials in their 70's and 80's telling them that they just lost a stroke for farting out loud while putting for an eagle on the 18th.

Wow! Just finished watching "Golf Central" on the Golf Channel and they covered every tour right down to the Korn Ferry and Curtis Cuop but not a word about the Final round of the LIV event. Damn, the PGA really has these guys steppin and fetchin. Scared to cover golf.
For the record, anti-competitive business conduct is prohibited by law.

The networks & cable channels might want to be careful of their interactions with the PGA Tour even though they may have contracts in place with the Tour. Any actions that could be considered collusion against LIV Golf would put them all in hot water.

Yep. The NFL tried to collude against the players and got hammered in court. I hope the same thing happens to the pga

Look at ESPN's desperation by trying to tie the LIV Golf to 9/11 .....I guess the PGA Tour called ESPN and told them there were not trying hard enough. God they are so desperate.

But Thank you Joe Biden ...the timing of this trip could not be better. Our President will now actually go to Saudi Aribia and make criticizing the players for playing in a Saudi backed league the dumbest thing ever.

Yep. He'd have to win a hundred tournaments on the PGA tour to earn that kind of scratch
Still more than the guy with 82 wins and LIV golf now has P.Perez, P Reed and Bryson DeShampoo

Can't blame DJ for leaving the PGA when you get a 4 year contract from LIV for 130 million

Nearly twice as much as he's made in 17 years on the PGA tour. Not a tough decision.

Tiger's total prize money in 26 years on the Tour ...121 Million.

DJ is 3rd at 74 million behind Tiger & Phil. That sort of surprised me though maybe it shouldn't have.

Think about it ....he only made 5 million a year in prize money, and head to have the greatest career in Pro golf history to get that.

Compare that to Judge Judy who makes 47 Million a year.

It seems like a much more fun atmosphere too. The announcers were really funny and having a good time yesterday

I'd just forgotten that he'd won so many touraments (24) and that it hasn't been all that long since he was winning them in bunches. The game has just had so many guys step forward in recent years as a potential next "best golfer in the world" that it's easy to forget the guys who came before.

The top guys often make as much and more off the course as they do in prize money. I think he'll still be eligible for the majors and aside from them why should he care whether the other events he competes in are PGA Tour sanctioned or not.

I had to laugh at the announcers at the beginning of the RBC Classic today. They were gushing about the final threesome of McIlroy, Thomas and Finau saying "there is not a tour in the world where you will find a final group with this much talent" A little dig at the LIV players

....And then Wyndam Clark double bogeyed the 18th hole when all he needed was a bogey to qualify for the British Open. That's some real talent.

If players going to another tour is against the rules and you are 1000% confident you are well within your right to ban those players ..so be it.

But ....

Why would the PGA Tour bring up the money the players they are banning being paid.

Why would the PGA Tour bring up who is funding the new Tour

Why would the PGA Tour bring up the "Human rights" abuses of the country that funds the new Tour

Why would the PGA Tour bring up the rumored involvement in 9/11 of the country that funds the new Tour.

If this all goes to court ...these statements will come up and it will make the PGA Tour look real bad when they have to try to explain it.

PGA officially suspended all 17 players attending the LIV event from all PGA events and warned any other players that join any LIV event will also be suspended.

Counterpoint: All of those points will tie-in real nicely to what is likely a pretty vague "character clause" in the PGA bylaws.

PGA Tour China is one of several developmental circuits run by the Tour. Founded in 2014, the 2021 PGA Tour China season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but PGA Tour officials recently reiterated their continued support of the tour. “We remain committed to the region and want to do everything we can to give competitive opportunities for players in Asia and from the Pacific Rim,” said Greg Carlson, PGA Tour Series-China executive director. The PGA Tour appears unfazed by China’s appalling human rights record, which currently includes accusations of brutal persecution of its Uyghur Muslim population.

China’s human rights violations are well-documented. The PGA Tour’s relationship with them, not so much — until now. The PGA Tour’s failure to file a 990 form disclosing its financial dealings with Chinese private equity firm Yao Capital and Chinese sports management company Shankai Sports, both of whom have close ties to China’s oppressive Communist regime, has it in the spotlight. Yao is financing a 20-year deal Shankai signed with the PGA Tour to manage the China series four years ago. As a tax-exempt organization, the PGA Tour is required to disclose such business dealings in China.

Asked to explain its failure to disclose its Chinese entanglements to the IRS, a PGA Tour spokesperson was recently quoted saying that the PGA Tour China Series is a separate entity, and that the activity of a subsidiary is not required to be reported on its Form 990, as it is not required to disclose ancillary contracts or deals.

This explanation doesn’t just fail the smell test. The PGA Tour’s questionable accounting shows it is acutely aware of the poor optics of running a golf league in China with the endorsement and cooperation of the Chinese government. It seems a clear case of the PGA Tour trying to have it both ways: gaining entry into the lucrative and largely untapped Chinese golf market, while flying under the radar of U.S. regulators and the IRS.

Well the PGA will have to explain why they allowed dozens of PGA Tour Players to play in the Saudi International the last several years.

Somewhat different animal.
No, it's a double standard.

The PGA Tour may very well have an argument for kicking out players ...but using any moral high ground arguments will fail greatly and undermine any legitimate arguments they have.
