General thread for ideas that don’t quite deserve their own thread and don’t really belong anywhere else, but are “interesting” none the less…

I am just perusing the Giants stats and found this one that blew me away…

Jakob Junis has been in 3 games for us so far. He already has 0.9 WAR, which is good for 2nd on the team (behind Rodon)

Holy shit!

3 G, 15.0 IP, 15/3 K/BB, 0.867 WHIP, 1.20 ERA (339 ERA+).

If he suffered a season ending injury right now, he has already earned more than 4x his salary.

Have you seen his AAA numbers? Talk about a tale of two seasons!

Pads signed Cano today. That is a no risk, high reward move by them.

No Bueno

Not sure they will get much out of him. He's had a year off from baseball and wasn't looking real good when he was playing with the Mets. He's 38 (?) years old and is at risk of a lifetime ban if he gets caught with PEDs again.

They got him for league min. Zero risk.

Not talking about the risk. I just don't see much reward at this point in his career. But, yes, I could be wrong. It happens a time or two.
There is some opportunity cost aside from the minimum salary. There's a roster spot, playing time that could go to others, etc.

But its low risk. Probably little chance of reward, but low risk.

Remember what we got from Dan Ugla and Justin Smoak.

Dont underestimate the older player kicked to the curb by his team.

Funny how our board here is pretty active but THE RAIDERS board on here isn't.

Our board at the "new" site is dead but THE RAIDERS board is fairly active...

By "our board" I meant this "Giants" board.

More people post here so I guess the other trying is a waste of time. At least that’s why I haven’t been trying to keep it going.

It sounds pretty straight forward. Both sites pull from the same poster-pool. Smaller niche subsets of that pool would have no reason to post at both sites.

Who is the last pitcher to hit a HR in a MLB game?
