Wasn't expecting this. I dont know what is wrong with LB dean from Georgia. I thought the UConn kid was better. maybe Jon Allen made this pick. We need DT depth. I understand the position they went with.

ommanders selected Alabama DL Phidarian Mathis with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.​

Mathis (6’4/310) totaled 76 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks in his first three years and was named to SEC’s All-Freshman team in 2018. In 2021, Mathis went on to total 53 tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, and nine sacks. He was named second-team All-SEC for his efforts. Mathis has the ability to line up as both an interior lineman and defensive end, with 107 of his defensive snaps coming from the DE position. He has active hands and doesn’t appear to give up on many plays. He wreaked havoc against Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl, totaling two tackles for a loss, one sack and two passes defended. Mathis’ scheme versatility will be a big plus

i came home from work actually looking forward to this draft, i woulda even been happy with willis or coral over DT

I don't know how many of you are watching the NFL network, but there was a moment a little before Washington's pick when they bought on Peter Schrager to talk about the Commander's upcoming pick, so what did he say?

Nothing... he opted to talk about what Baltimore was doing!

Actually, the pick is about vision. If we are going to lose Payne, here is his replacement.

It might not be a bad pick. They created the position of need. Payne probably plays this year. Phil gives them some depth while learning. They saved a bunch of money. Not a fun pick but you have to have the big guys.
