I haven’t watched the final pitches to the jury yet, but OMG what a HORRID final 2. Probably the 2 most undeserving of all the players who made merge. And neither got a WE from production, so they thought so as well.

Ill wait til you finish the final tribal for my thoughts on that.

I was done 20 mins later…

I think Pia had a very solid winners edit. She even right off the bat got the blatant winners quote, "I'm either going home first or im winning the game". She got good content. She wasnt the power player that some of them were but she played a really good game and the edit didnt undermine her. There were just bigger personalities that also had more storylines for a while. Janine was the god mother. Harry, Luke and David all had plot heavy storylines and were on the bottom for key moments. Australia doesnt usually load up on their winners for content. They find the biggest personalities win or not and run the well dry. David went out with like 9 eps to spare and how confessionaled almost everyone.

Pia even had a solid chance of beating Harry and Abby. Luke was the only one she had no claim towards, hence why she simply couldnt tie the vote at 4.

I thinks he was a solid winner. IMO the best all around of the 4 australian winners to this point. She made Baden her bitch at tribal

they also CONTINUALLY had Janine praise her as the best player in the game pretty much from the swap to the final tribal.

Her pitch was clearly the best we have seen from Australia. MAYBE the best we have ever seen from any Survivor, US or Australia. Gotta give her that. But I question the editing. Aussie Survivor uses the edit VERY liberally (you can hear them editing audio to paint a narrative all the time). I still suspect that they edited Sharn’s final pitch to help sell Shane as a winner. No way would a top flight courtroom lawyer be that incompetent.

Sharns pitch was just brutal. She was actually a really strong player. Just a brutal tribal mixed with biter bitch Mat cost her. But yeah Australia's editing is done very liberally. They even repeat confessionals a lot and some are done a clear different point in games(beard lengths dont match up or buffs etc...). The only consistency is they will ride their favorites for all its worth.

What was the spoiler you though you saw? Cause you didnt mention Pia as a contender when you said you thought you accdientally glimpsed something.

I thought I saw that Janine won. Like I said, I saw a reference to her survivor participation and immediately left the page, so I wasn’t 100% sure I was spoiled (obviously I wasn’t).

I actually identified both Pia and Baden as purples very early (along with Abby). I should have caught on to Janine’s constant praising of Pia as a form of WE, though. I just didn’t connect that dot.

Ahh gotcha. Thought maybe you stumbled on something for Luke. People were so upset he didnt win there was a Go Fund me to raise the 500K for his kids and it hit 1 million in like 2 days. He donated half to a cystic fibrosis charity and shut it down it got so out of control.

People are wild.

he didn’t have half the “clown edit” in S4 that he did in S2. He came across as much more of a solid, serious dude in S4.

And seriously, dude. Your genes are obviously broken. Stop having kids…

And I dare you to tell me Dave is not Josh Holloway’s long lost twin brother.

I said it in her season, and I stand behind it 100%.

Michelle’s voice makes me go directly to Amazon and start shopping for an ice pick. She is such a muppet.

Yeah her voice is way too much. Kinda a shame because she brings a decent entertainment factor as a player despite obvious physical limitations. But painful to listen to

I am watching ep 8 now. But I think I have recognized the WE.

Moana.

She hasn’t done a lot (good nor bad), but she has said in multiple episodes that “I am here to win” or something very similar. And she has stated that her early game strategy is to keep her head down. Ie, she is telling audience why we aren’t seeing a lot of activity out of her atm.

I love this comp in theory, but the one side CLEARLY has a stronger current. This is the 2nd or 3rd season they have had this comp, and it was clear each time that the “inside” lane (closest to the dock with the players) has a much lighter current.

Dayum, Sharn. HELL of a play! I don’t know yet if it was legit or a play, but either way. Nice play by Dave with the idol as well. Even if he was wrong (which he was), it made the rocks play a much better gamble, and maybe a good tag team play with Sharn.

Moana is still getting the VERY heavy handed WE, but that might be a swerve.

Yeah that was kinda a must play it situation to protect against any sort of flip and increase odds in at tie.

Moana annoys the fuck outta me. Just cant get over the quitting in CvC1

I didn’t mind her quitting. She was sick as a dog. And being super sick while being out in the elements can be uber demoralizing.

I am having a hard time judging her game play this season because of the obviously favorable edit she is getting. The WE she is getting is way over the top. That’s why I am kinda thinking it has to be a swerve. I could see Sharn or Tarzan winning with a purple game, but the game that Dave is playing never wins because he can’t make it to final 2.

Btw…

I LOVE that they have essentially added a Fox Box to the name chevrons this season. It really helps remind the viewer who has advantages. I am surprised the US version never adopted this.

:L

Quite possibly the jump the shark moment for Aussie Survivor. Producers have butted in in the past, but this “twist” was ridiculous.

so why give Moana such a massive WE? Just because Dave was SOOOO dominant they needed a swerve story?

That was one of the more dominant wins ever in Survivor.

Seriously. Who here believes Sharn is actually an attorney? She looked pitiful for the second time in final tribal.

So they have a first comp that includes chopping a log….

And have the current log chopping world champion on one of the teams?

Come on, Survivor. Do better.
