IR spot mitigates bad injury luck.

It in no way shape or form replaces the lost stud you have to place on IR.

Honestly I don’t see the downside to adding a IR spot. Much more preferable to adding bench spots, IMO.

12 less options on waivers for every roster spot added.


It’s not much different from adding a bench spot. Think I had four guys on IR on my bench at one point.

Not every team will use the IR spot at any given time.

I think we have all had a few IR players on our benches at 1 time or another. Hence the movement for adding an IR spot.

It will not drastically reduce the quality of players on waivers, but it will absolutely provide better opportunity for teams hit hard by injuries to get through the tough times.

Just want to point out that the proposal for the IR spot is due to (1) the NFL's change in their IR protocols as well as (2) the projection that this will most likely be the start of a record year for players on IR.

Yep. Need to adjust to the times. 1 IR spot isn't the end of world imo
