My 100% ignorant take is that they are just slowly introducing the concept of the multi-verse so they can bring in the concept of Mutants.

Mutants have a history that goes back millennia, so they can’t just bring them into the MCU as some kind of new development (Apocalypse, for example, predates the Egyptians, I believe).

You could be right, but form what I've read on this, the Eternals is supposed to be the "gateway" to getting mutants into the MCU.

Just an observation…

The MCU is GREAT at the slow-burn build up. They are taking what looks like 6 movies and multiple tv seasons to ease in the concept of the Multi-verse so they can then go into a long slow intro of Mutants.

DC, conversely, tries to introduce all their new concepts before the opening credits of a single movie. There is no appreciation of anticipation or preparation.

I think there is a pretty good argument that the MCU has been selling us the same three movies over and over again so they've refined their craft fairly well.

DC doesnt hit that same level of consistency at all but they do have a couple of stellar high points.

im still 100% of the belief, and this is a hill im prepared to die on lol. That there is a reason why we haven't seen Feige and that team rush to include X-Men into anything, why they haven't been quick to recast everyone

i think we will see the First Class cast interact with MCU in Avengers:Secret Wars. i think by 2024 enough time will have past from Jackmans sendoff in Logan for him to make atleast some sort of appearance in Secret Wars

i also believe they will bring back RDJ and Evans for that as well. Theres just way too much money to be left on the table by not having those actors/characters interact with each other in MCU.

seeing Mackies Captain America character, interact with say Egerton as Wolverine just won't have the same impact IMO

If they're bringing Cox in, I hope D'onofrio's Kingpin is soon to follow.

Saw it last night. It's very good and a definite crowd-pleaser.
