So if you look what the Rams gave up to get Goff and then what it took to dump him, it cost them 5 first round picks - 2 seconds - 3 thirds. At the end of the day they gave up 10 picks in the top 3 rounds to get a 33 year old Mathew Stafford. That’s gotta be a big ouch for Rams Fans no matter how you spin it

No guarantees.

It's impressive that they found a team willing to absorb Goff's contract. So they deserve kudos for that. But Stafford is only under contract for 2 more years, and he's 7 years older than Goff... Stafford is 5-46 against teams with a winning record. Not to mention he has never won a playoff game.

It seems to me that the Rams just wanted to get rid of Goff more than they wanted to acquire Stafford. Pretty much downgraded their QB and threw away two 1sts & a 3rd to make it happen.

IMO on paper the Lions won this trade. Yea they'll be paying Goff more than he's worth, but those picks *COULD* make it worth it.
The lions wasted a lot of money - soon to be offset by cheap rookie contracts from the picks.....

I could easily see the Lions trading Goff to a team like the 9ers, Colts or Patriots for a second or third round pick. Then draft a QB with pick number 7.
Even though there seems to have been chemistry issues between Goff and McVey, the dude can still play QB. To me The Colts with Reich (who, btw, made Wentz look pretty good) would make a ton of sense.

How many bad and stupid posts are in this thread? Lots in my eyes, Stafford is way better than most in here state, and is pretty much what the Rams need at QB. Sorry, selfish me didn't like this trade, now the Rams are a real threat for the Lombardi....

Love a good bump backfire…. Stafford is 18/29 for 177yds & 2 INTs.

Rams were a 7.5pt favorite tonight

They gave up two 1st Rd picks, a 3rd, and a starting QB for Matt Stafford.

Yeah, about that...it's one game and I'd take my chances with this team and Stafford vs this team with Goff...how about you?
