When I used to read the anti-Beltre sentiment on the DMN and EsSPN boards I always got the idea that folks were offering up excuses beforehand to excuse JD if he didn't get the deal done. The JD Fan Club was in its heyday at that time. Now, it is only a shell of its former self.
Aren’t we supposed to root for the Rangers?
What I don’t get is Ranger fans who still vehemently hate JD.
We want all I the organization to do well, right?

He brings a ton of postseason experience and swagger to a team. He might be an ass but he's an ass with skins on the wall.
Not disagreeing but I am a guy who never wanted Parcells to come to the Cowboys.
I gave up on jersey buying but don’t think as a thing guy I want a Corea jersey.
I don’t think he has ever come real clean.

If he publicly renounced the Astros I could come around

Sure, we are all supposed to want the best for the team. In the past, it has been hard to know if some were bigger fans of JD or of they were bigger fans of the team. Those were the excuse makers and with the Beltre pursuit, some of them starting making excuses just in case.

I don't get those who vehemently hate JD and I also never got those who could never admit a difference-making fault of his. One extreme is just as ridiculous as the other. I am glad at least one of the extremes is just a shell of its former self.

I certainly agree we are supposed to want the best for the team. However, the rub comes when not everyone agrees what is best for the team and that includes JD. I look at JD the same as a player. He has a job and is expected to perform. To some he has and some he hasn't. Never the less he is now looking in the rear view mirror. Like a player, he is sometime spot on and other time not so much. If we expect more than their best then we expect the impossible. We all know the old saying,"until we have walked in the other man's shoe". So until we all agree what is best for the team, we remain like a man with one foot nailed to the floor.

I would of course want the Rangers to do good ahead of JD. But yes what have you done lately is very appropriate. Now that we have CY then maybe this is the voice ahead we hear and JD is more business and negotiation vs baseball development.

And Of course it is good to be objective. I am a fan of Joey but that looks like a good trade.
So in the same way I am glad Chris Young is the new GM and happy he gets more credit if it turns out well

A lot more has went right lately. The exceptions being day 2 of the draft and the Crouse trade.

Did they not have a long reliever. Not sure why Odorizzi was used.
That was the rub. He got more time than was needed due to not bringing in a true reliever and this unnerved the Sox pitcher

Maybe all is more due to CY. He is the one that courted Leiter. CY perhaps had more influence than we see and JD is just taking any criticism to give him more of a honeymoon time

Yeah, it is really hard to tell who is doing what, but hopefully, Chris has been a positive influence, because he will most likely be influencing for quite some time. One thing that has helped is the decision to be committed to a rebuild.

Watching this game and last night, I really don't get the complaints that our new place was just a carbon copy of the Houston stadium.

Thinking of three things:
1 Roof 2 playing field 3 high vendor prices

I have attended a couple of games there, at Enron/Minute Maid, and I don't get it either.
