I just worry Correa will regress once he gets paid.
Rather go after Story. I think he will out produce Correa over the next 5 years.
He will also be cheaper. Years and $
from different sources it is his caustic personality that worries me. i'm afraid he would be a cancer

I do not question his value. I do think we could be borrowing trouble. He seems to have an attitude problem.
Yeah seems like an arrogant shit head
Ofcourse he finally had a full healthy season and hit on all his metrics to have a 7.2 BWAR, which he will tell you all about, right on time for his contract year. He will go on to be a 3-4 WAR player, which is nice, but not $300/10 nice

Correa doesn't seem to be holding the Astros back.

but what effect would he have on a young building team like the Rangers? on the Astros they have a team of mostly veteran players who won't put up with his BS

Hope it won't be the Rangers.
He's already turned down more than he's worth, he thinks he's worth what the Mets wayyyyy overpaid Lindor...

When I used to read the anti-Beltre sentiment on the DMN and EsSPN boards I always got the idea that folks were offering up excuses beforehand to excuse JD if he didn't get the deal done. The JD Fan Club was in its heyday at that time. Now, it is only a shell of its former self.

This is from Ken Rosenthal's article on The Athletic.

Leadership is another of Correa’s attributes. Take Sept. 30 against the Rays, when Astros second baseman Jose Altuve made an error behind closer Ryan Pressley to create a first-and-second, none-out situation in a one-run game in the ninth. After seeing Pressly drop his head in frustration, Correa approached the mound. He told Pressly, “You are a really good closer. But great closers pick their teammates up. We need you to pick up Altuve here.” Pressly proceeded to induce a double play from Nelson Cruz and groundout from Yandy Díaz to preserve a 3-2 victory. Astros bench coach Joe Espada said of Correa, “He does that all the time.”

Troy Snitker, one of the Astros’ two hitting coaches, said Correa will yell at teammates from the dugout during at-bats, urging them to swing at strikes. It’s something he has worked on himself, reducing his chase rate from 33.9 percent in the shortened season to a career-low 27 percent, making sure he swings at strikes even during practice. In the regular season, he batted .279 with 26 homers, 92 RBIs and an .850 OPS. In five postseason games, he’s 8-for-17 with one homer, two doubles and four walks for a tidy 1.336 OPS.

He brings a ton of postseason experience and swagger to a team. He might be an ass but he's an ass with skins on the wall.
