What about Ozzy ? What was his downfall? I mean when he went to exile Island on his request just to put people out was one of the boldest moves ever on Survivor. I’m not saying he is the GOAT, but was his social game and strategy that bad ?

Yeah Ozzy imo is just too 1 dimensional(or not multi dimensional enough). He's a really quality player. And should always be someone you want in the premerge. He can provide/set up the camp and hes a major asset in challenges.

His strategy is mediocre at best and his social game isn't anything special either. He's also pretty frequently on his "high horse" so to speak.

His first time out was a really impressive performance tho. His domination really saved a underdog alliance.

I thought about Ozzie. But he was too bull headed. He goes all out, 100%. He never understood how to finesse anything. Everyone loved him, but they also knew that he was going home the first chance he was open. Anyone can sprint in a marathon. B7t those runners will NEVER win the race.

Yup very similar to Joe Anglim.

You have to have some strategy to win.

Two of the best seasons just added to Netflix.

Not sure why only 2 seasons and why they randomly got a deal on Netflix. But still pretty cool the show is finally on there.

Aren't they all on Hulu?
Shouldn't CBS Access have all of them?

Which seasons did they add?

Yeah they are 100% on CBS all access

And mostly on Prime/Hulu(just not the recent seasons unless you pay on prime). I think Prime is 1-29 free and Hulu goes to like 34.

The seasons added were 20(HvV) and 28(Tony round 1) so two of the best. Now days with all the other streaming options its not mega news. But Netflix is still the original streaming giant and its always been weird they have never had a deal to get the show.

I have never attempted to do any rewatches of this show. Is it really worthwhile?

this coming from someone who considers survivor and bb as almost certain night-of viewing, so I am not attacking the show...

I've watched every season when it aired for the first time on a week to week basis.

It's a different experience when you can binge multiple episodes at once.
Everything is a bit more fresh.

Although, comparing early season to later seasons is night and day.
Especially when they began putting immunity idols in.

But, it's neat to watch the evolution of the show and there were some great seasons that are definitely worth watching again.

If you are someone that tends to truly enjoy watching, I think it is worthwhile. I certainly wouldnt binge through all 40 seasons or something. But rewatching seasons I really enjoyed is fun. I have a really strong memory(knock on wood) and even I find them worthwhile. If someone with a dog shit memory rewatched I think the binge factor would make it very appealing. There are definitely some seasons(usually older) that ive still only watched once, I appreciate the old school style but its less rewatchable when its just 1 alliances crushing the other.

A season like Second Chances is one that is very easy to dive right back into.

Otherwise do seasons with All Star worthy characters. Aka Coach's first season.

Did covid mess up their plans for a new season? Some reality shows have kept going. Seems like being on an island would sorta be an ideal scenario given the circumstances of the world

So you'd think. Apparently due to the large production crew they have that come from all over it's too tough to get everyone to Fiji safely(Also I think fiji wasn't allowing guests for a while). And they have such a good deal in place with Fiji(hence why every season is there now) they refuse to film somewhere else, like the remotely in the US which would be cool.

Fall of 2021 seems to be when we will get a new season.

Watching Ep2 now.

1 week in and Jeff has already completely failed in his Woke-promise to stop using the word “guys”. As they all got together for the challenge, he asks if “you guys” are doing ok with the new rules.

I did a quick search in google, and it doesn’t look like anyone noticed. However, I did find a pole that had 89% of respondents saying the decision is stupid, and the general opinion on the internet is that fans think it is a dumb idea (though the writers of these articles seem to essentially unanimously praise Survivor regardless).

I'm still watching.
Don't really care what he says.
There's really no reason for him to tell us that they're coming into tribal council and who knows what is going to happen.

But, the gameplay still seems solid, yet we're at the mercy of the edit.
I like the new risk/reward decisions.
Lots of possibilities.

I'm about to drop the show. Too many damn gimmicks ruining the game.

They have to continue to change it up. No twists would make the show boring af.

Nah. The more gimmicks, the more produced and forced it feels. All they need is interesting people, basic game play, and some basic idols. That's it. Every season where they've started packing on the gimmicks the last 4 or 5 seasons, the show has gotten progressively worse. The only reason s40 worked was because it was all returning players (Winners).

The wokeness is what has been getting me. The dropping of the word “guy” this year (then immediately using the word the very next episode), kicking a guy off the show and basically ruining his life because he is a bit creepy (he was creepy, granted, but I did not get the sense there was any molestation intent in the slightest…. He was just too handsy, imho).

does anyone know whether the Teams are random or not??

this is the biggest problem with survivor, if you are STUCK on a bad team, you are kind of screwed... it is pretty clear that this weak team, is not going to win anything... the first team rearrangement has to happen soon... and thats what is annoying too, because the luck of the draw can put more people from one team on the new rearranged team... and they just take out the rest one by one..

thats what i like about the seasons with a second chance, you dont automatically lose because of the team you were on...

The one season where there was never any alliances was an interesting season. i should probably rewatch that season to see how it developed.
