Falcons are the worst. Matt Ryan looked worn down and the defense is putrid. They made the Eagles look like a .500 team and we know they aren't.
Jags are bad but breaking in a rookie QB takes a few weeks. Maybe the Lions but they did try making a come back where the Falcons just said fuck it.

Week 1 was my first sight of Lawrence. He's a physical specimen but he's not a generational talent. He has bad footwork and a poor throwing motion. At times he looked like a disinterested or lazy guy who was just slinging it. He's raw, but even if he eventually 'gets it' his fundamentals will hamper him.

If he really had awful fundamentals, they would of been picked apart long before now. Also the “raw” part seems a bit off too as Pretty much regarded as a pro ready plug n play qb. Perhaps youre right, but seems like a crazy assessment off one game, that was clearly poor for that team.

I had to go with the Falcons on this one. That roster is total crap. Jags and Jets will still be down there with them but I think they will likely improve some as the year goes on.

Fwiw on Lawrence's debut, rough start for the kid for sure but check out this stat line on another can't miss #1 picks debut. Btw, he ended up having a pretty good career.

The Lions have the worst roster thanks to 5 years of Bob Quinn wasting drafts, but the Jags have the worst HC and least heart.

If I were a fan I would not want to be a Falcons fan. Atleast with the Jags they still have a great QB prospect that did throw 3 TDs and 300+ yards in his rookie debut and Zach Wilson didnt look that bad atleast on the stat sheet so there is hope for the future. The Falcons still have Matt Ryan on a monster contract this season and next so they have nothing to look forward to for the next 2 years. They really should be looking at drafting a QB next draft and have him sit behind Ryan.

I agree on Ryan. Obviously, the Falcons need a lot more but that albatross contract makes it tough. They need to hit on at least the next 2 drafts to get back to respectability and they need to find his replacement.

To sum up how fucking bad Urban Meyer is:

With 59 seconds left in the first half, the Texans kicked a field goal.

The Texans would then get the ball back on a punt before halftime. And added a touchdown!

Urban Meyer has no business being an NFL head coach. Take that shit back to college, dude. It ain't gonna work here.

It's 1 game and I hate to judge someone on 1 game. People can play great with poor fundamentals and they can play poorly with great fundamentals. The point is that poorer fundamentals create more opportunity for inaccuracies. The more pressure the person is under and the less time they have the more those fundamentals play a part. His Week 1 completions typically were passes gunned to a stationary against zone and system plays where he threw to an area allowing the receiver to adjust to the ball. When he tried to throw into a tight moving window he was poor. When he threw without being set in a pocket with time/space he was poor. The Day 1 Lawrence reminds me of the Day1 Gabbert, but it's Day 1. Another 10 or 20 games will be more representative.

Lawrence has a bogus stat line because the game was a blow-out. It was a 3 TD game with 3 minutes to play. At the end the Texans went into a avoid-injury, Hail Mary Prevent defense. The Jaguars had a garbage time 90 yard TD drive in a hurry-up offense, (Lawrence was 7 of 10 with most of the yards and the TD).

I didn't see the Jags game but the stat line looks like what you'd expect from a rookie in his first NFL start. Let's see if he develops.

Troy Aikman started his rookie season and the Cowboys went 1-15, but you could definitely see improvement over the course of the season.

There was a lot of garbage stats for sure but to be fair, the kid hasn't got much around him. The defense is bad and Meyer has him dropping back 50+ times.
That other stat line I posted was Peyton Mannings btw. He had 28 ints his first year in the league. I just wanted to point out that it's a little early. We expect a lot out of these kids and there is always a learning curve.

*launches reverse jinx nuclear warhead*

Seattle is the worst team easily. They had an abysmal pass rush while Fisher was out and Wilson was missing receivers between 5-10 yards. Carroll was also showing his age as I'm pretty sure during the 2nd quarter he choked on his gum. The CBs are horrible, Wagner has lost a step, and Metcalf was acting like a dork and almost got ejected.

Seahacks 1-16 book it.

They did look really, really bad and for picking Pitts so high they weren't even looking his way. Seems odd, maybe they are tanking for Ryan replacement and Ryan was offered a FO position after he retires
