I don't necessarily think they'll expand but I think you're going to see the other conferences work together to close the revenue gap between themselves and the SEC.
Possible B10/Pac 12 merger?

I don't think that's imminent. I think the next domino to fall will be the ACC. The ACC will either keep the revenue gap reasonable between themselves and the SEC/B1G or you will see the ACC split after the GOR expires. If that were to happen, I think you might see the AAU schools from the PAC join the Big Ten.

But all of that is 10-15 years away. In the meantime, I wouldn't be shocked if the Big Ten and PAC 12 created scheduling alliances in order to increase the value of their content. As a Duck living in Pennsylvania, I'd love to see Oregon join the Big Ten. Maryland, Rutgers and Penn State are all easy enough day trips for me.

I did read and this was a while back but B10 would like to add USC, but would probably need to add Oregon, Washington and another Pac school to lure USC in. It's possible down the line and living in Jersey I would love to see UW vs PSU/UM/OSU. Scheduling alliance does make sense.

It's possible the Big Ten could add a Western Pod down the road. That could be some combination of the Cal-4, Oregon, and Washington.

No other conference will “fall” at this point. The entire landscape of college athletics is going to get smashed by players getting $$$ now. Once that dust settles, we likely will barely recognize the landscape.

You are correct, it’s the Wild West and the big boys will get bigger. What’s to stop a booster from going to a car dealer and saying give this kid a NIL deal for a car, we will pay for the car? Answer, nothing. It’s already happening and now it can appear legal.

I wouldn't be shocked if the top teams in the AAC jumped at a chance at the Big 12. Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Kansas State, etc is better than Tulane, Temple or ECU.

As predicted, the top teams in the AAC are applying for Big 12 membership and not the other way around. Bottom of the AAC was too weak to justify the reverse. I think the Big 12 actually made a pretty smart move bringing in BYU, UCF, Cincy and Houston. That was probably their best option.

You think conferences are going to go bigger than 16 teams? I mean, aesthetically it doesn't make sense to me, 4 Conferences of 16 each does. That gives you 64 total teams, and 8 Div Title winning teams who play off for 4 Conf titles and 4 spots in the playoff.

But seeing as there are more than 64 teams in the 5 Power Conferences, no school that is currently a P5 school is going to want to drop down to something less. But the big boys will be the ones who decide in the end.
