Yankees returned RHP Luis Gil to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Gil pitched brilliantly in his MLB debut on Tuesday night against the Orioles, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out six batters across six scoreless frames to earn a win. But the 23-year-old was only up as a replacement player after Gerrit Cole and Jordan Montgomery landed on the COVID-19 IL. He should get another look soon.
