Rangers baseball rolls on after a chaotic end of July. Trades were made, draft picks were signed, games were walked off. Now we head into August with that glorious roof over our heads. I'll get to check it out in person soon, I'll be at the August 14th game.

Against the Angels we have 3 at night and then a getaway day Thursday. Dunning, Lyles, and Allard are the 3 spherical object manipulators to start; Thursday's starter is TBD but I assume we will see the Rangers debut of future TORP* Spencer Howard. The Angels have not announced their starters yet but Ohtani didn't pitch yesterday so I assume we will see him on the mound.

The Rangers are currently still 3rd in the 2022 draft order.

Moving up 4 spots from one trade is pretty impressive. The Phillies trade would not have moved them up any further. Howard is going straight to the Rangers, and adding two other guys offsets the loss of Crouse.

Had an injury
Orioles ran out of room on their 40 man roster so they had to release him.

I would have liked to have seen them go for quality over quantity. The guys they traded for have some good attributes, but I would have liked to have had one guy who grades out better than the guys they got. The trade gives us more depth where we already had depth.

I would have liked to have seen them go for quality over quantity. The guys they traded for have some good attributes, but I would have liked to have had one guy who grades out better than the guys they got. The trade gives us more depth where we already had depth.

That is the one potential gripe about the Gallo trade that I've read the most, fewer prospects but more quality
