Let me make something very clear, this team as currently built is a 10-11-12 win team. The caveat being... If they had a QB. They DO NOT!
Last year we saw musical QB's and are likely to see more of the same this year. I don't think that there are many who disputes this. Hoping that Fitz becomes something that he hasn't been in his previous 16 years with seven teams has me asking to have what some here are smoking. Here's the real Ryan Fitzpatrick:

"Fitzpatrick's competitive but inconsistent performances have earned him the nicknames "Fitzmagic" and "Fitztragic". He has had only two winning seasons, which occurred with the 2015 Jets and 2020 Dolphins, and never made the playoffs." If the pattern holds, his next winning season will be in 2025 and whichever team he's playing for, still won't make the playoffs.

As mentioned, this is a 10- 11-12 win team, but not with any of the players that they currently have at QB. As good as the defense projects to be, they are not the 2012-2013 Ravens or the '85 Bears, rules won't allow that sort of play anymore.
I think You've got a good point on Fitz. Through his career, he's generally been a good relief pitcher--that backup QB that comes in and does better than expected and even has streaks of great in him. However, when he is the day 1 starter, his play generally isn't as good as it was when he was a backup. Still, I think he fits well with Rivera, and he is an upgrade from what the Skins had at QB last year...

If Fitz balls out with everything that he has, this is still a 5 win team. He's simply not a starting caliber QB, can't change what he is.. (and he's the best that they have)

what are your thoughts for addressing the QB issue next year, since this season is a wash?
Draft, FA, trade, something else?

Either you have a principle or you do not have a princip

You can’t bust Snyder out or the other redskins execs out for harassment then turn around and say but because you can “ spin “ a football it’s ok to harass women

that is why we need to wait till he is cleared

22 isn’t it? That is Sty’s dream.

Howell I like But will be gone long before we pick. Willis is A project like Lance

Sty is probably dreaming right now about moving up for either guy. It won't cost much because we are a 5 win team.
After pulling a qb name out the hat, we finally draft a franchise QB.

It was the defense. The Mighty mighty chiefs were humiliated.
I will say I think the Fitz hype is unwarranted, and I believe TH will take over.
It appears like the team is going to attack the QB issue in FA next off season
I don't know, they totally revamped their O-Line this offseason and that was the same OL that they won the SB with.

I believe that Fitz is the best that they have. When they shuffle, and I am convinced that they will, it won't be an improvement.

If they are going to attack the QB issue next year, this year will signal the beginning of RR losing the locker room. The team is built to win now, and they should not waste a season in the often short careers of these players. It's common knowledge that the goal of every team coming into camp is to win enough games to first win your division, make the playoffs, win in the playoffs and end with a Super-bowl victory. Any player or coach who doesn't share this viewpoint, I don't want on my team or associated with it. Conventionally, you're going to need a QB and/or a very special team to make it to the big dance. Once there, with few exceptions you're going to need a big time QB to win it. (I can hear some of you now nay-saying this but take a look at the last 20 years) BTW: a very special team is one that can dominate and carry its QB to victory

View attachment 276083

The exceptions were 1. Foles (but he had a super team and was MVP of the big game)... 2. P. Manning (PMF)... 3. Flacco (MVP but Meh!)... 4. Dilfer and maybe Brad Johnson, Washington doesn't have anyone close to the winning SB QB's.

On the losing side, there's Collins, Gannon, Hasselbeck, who we can safely say Fitz is comparable to and two who are spot-on Fitz like. They are Grossman and Delhomme. Of course, you don't set out to lose this game and if getting there is enough for any of them, they too, don't belong on my team.

I don’t disagree with you at all and he does fits well with Rivera, that’s a huge concern and not in a positive way for neither of them. BTW: Hypothetically if you had the 30th, 31st, and 32nd rated QB in the league a year ago got rid of them and signed the 29th rated QB, wouldn’t that be an upgrade similar to what Washington has done?

I think that they address the QB issue this year!

There are two teams that Washington is looking at as we trade posts, one will garner an almost unanimous “Hell naw!” from our board, the other has legal issues. (Yes I’d trade for him right now!!)

Let me show you how deeply troubling it is to read these posts, year, after year, after year, when the issue is QB. The team historically finishes 8-8 give or take. The draft comes around and there’s ALWAYS pushback against trading up (2012 excepted) “Cost too much” “Mortgaging the future” “Gotta keep this player or that one,” and my favorite, “let’s see if they are a QB away!!” (meaning waste this season)

You're right, 5 games because that puts you in the top ten of the draft and a trade, if needed won’t cost as much. If this team drafts a QB in the next draft, they would be a year too late to get a high quality one. They wanted Lance, but could have easily gotten the best QB in this past draft, considering what Chicago paid to get him.

Nobody ever said that, except you!

Everything that I wrote related to being able to “spin a football” was related to due process.

The females will be deposed in September, He won’t be deposed until February, after the season is over. No exemption list either, so this means that he’s going to play somewhere this year. His current team might eat this year’s salary without production, but I doubt it. They’re going to move him this year before he’s cleared and there are teams that will attempt to get him. Why not this one, aside from your made up principle position?

BTW: You know that I had first-person knowledge concerning Snyder!! Beyond that, didn’t DS get due process and as such, allowed to be involved in ALL team activities last year? Why the (principled) difference for this person?

Deshaun “The predator“ Watson

Deshaun 21 savage Watson? say it ain't so.
I'm gonna keep my eye on Howell, and maybe even Willis too
For those who have already drawn conclusions on that player with the legal issues, do me a favor. If I’m ever a defendant in a public civil case again, and you’re potential jurors, make sure that you figure out a way to get yourselves dismissed.

You seem to think I believe he is guilty.

He may be…he may not be. I don’t know.

What he is guilty of is conduct that looks questionable in a time where “women have to be believed.” Somehow, the world thinks women have become more virtuous I guess?

Again, your argument is thorough, but debatable due to injury, covid and as they say...."things going your way" in games.
How many experts had us winning the division last year? Look at all the injuries we survived last year, who thought we would be the Steelers? These are just random points but look at the internal issues within the Packers, Saints and Eagles organizations. The WFT has issues too but the morale is very high.
Let's host a playoff game again this year,
And i bet we win it. I bet the intimidation and jitters of the post season is over and done with. I'm not touching Deshaun, "no pun intended" until its clear whatever happened with those women was blurred by false reports. You want to lose the locker room, and fans and the last bit of respect from female employees....bring in Watson asap. Who else are we targeting at QB? Surely not Rogers? Is it Cam or the kid from Jacksonville?

I can remember watching rookie camps where the players were TOLD be careful about sleeping with random women in questionable places, the next morning, you're getting accused of r%pe, and even though you're innocent, you may settle to save time, money and face

I smell where you're coming from b/c it was a very weak position and he's not a big upgrade, but being a stop gap move AND a slight upgrade, that's a win imo, but even if Fitz does better than the QBs ya'll had last year, it'll still be one of the weakest positions on the team, so it'll still need major upgrading. And like you keep saying--a major upgrade, even if it's a draft pick, won't be easy/cheap to get (just ask my Niners!).

Absolutely. Upon entering the NFL, rookies are warned repeatedly about stuff like this. They're shown videos and skits in the NFL and team rookie symposiums.

For Watson, it looks like he paid for a lot of happy endings (or even sex). That isn't assault or r*pe unless it's done against her will or the "masseuse" is under age. Like you said, it's all too easy for a night of consensual adult time to turn into a morning of regret and accusations where it's entirely a question of her word against yours.

Athletes, like men in general, MUST protect themselves b/c In this Me-Too era, evidence is not necessary and one accusation, even made decades later, can ruin a person's reputation for life. What cell phones did for traffic stops, they can do for claims of sex assault. Use the phone to either get consent in a text or on video before going to doinktown. If she refuses, kick her to the curb b/c there will still be a line of other women waiting to take her place.

On a New York Times podcast, Donna Rotunno, said that “If I was a man in today’s world, before I was engaging in sexual behavior with any woman today, I would ask them to sign a consent form.” It's more prevalent than you'd think...

Nope. It still has to be proven in a court of law. One day sanity will return.

Very true, it is disturbing how many women WERE sexually assaulted and or threatened to remain quiet. And then on the other side of the coin, how deadly of an accusation that can be.
There's that MLB guy that supposedly choked and punched the buttocks of a female friend, its odd that she went back to have sex with him a second time, if he was so violent the first. Apologies to any, if it seems that I'm saying she's lying

I feel like the 49ers, just had untimely injuries. One overthrow was the difference between winning and losing the superbowl. You guys will be fine.
Kyle is too good of an offensive architect for the team not to be back in the playoffs
