Sure, but when Carroll has reigned him in, the defense gets better and if he wants to end up top 5 of all time that is a proven way for him to end up there. It is up to him, does his peak want to be Brees where his height is always going to cause issues so he just becomes a stat guy or does he really want to be like Brady, or hell even Eli where he isn’t the focal point. Brady’s best numbers seasons he lost the Super Bowl and Eli got carried and had a couple of miraculous throws like Russ did to Kearse in the 2013 NFC CCG and the throw leading up to the pick in Super Bowl 49.

I’m sure every team would like to play with a super stacked Defense. But at this point we have gone quite a few drafts without drafting a crazy good or just good defensive player, they blew their load on Adams and now they are going to have to pay him and have diminished draft picks. Not sure how any of that is Russell’s fault.

and if you are saying Russ needs to throw less, then again that’s on coaching and decision making not on Russ.

I’m sure every team would like to play with a super stacked Defense. I am not trying to say the LOB and that defense wasn’t crazy good and the exception to the rule. I don’t think there will ever be a defense that good again with a only having two starters they drafted in the first round (Irvin barely counts)

I am not criticizing the coaching staff, they do what they do. Throughout his career they have drawn up plenty of solid play calls that Russ couldn’t see the receiver that was wide open and he ends up taking a sack. Every single, at least home, Rams game.

What I will always be critical of is the calling for Russ to cook. It works for awhile then defense adapt like they have done. So I am cool with whatever, but I am not a fan of Russ (or his camp or whatever) talking out of both sides of their mouths, he has to pick a lane, try to win more Super Bowls or try to set all of the passing records.
