I saw three new mock drafts this morning. They were from CBS Sports, Bleacher Nation and Keith Law. Two had us taking Lawlat and one had us taking Mayer.

2021 MLB Mock Draft: Pirates take prep shortstop No. 1; Vandy's Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter go in top 10

The CBS one has a HS pitcher going at 3, ahead of Leiter at 4. And the Orioles taking Davis at 5, even though they just drafted a catcher in the first round two years ago.

They mention money as a factor with Leiter. And they also mention this:

"Texas has a very position-player-heavy farm system and adding one of the Vanderbilt arms would be awfully tempting."

but then immediately say this:

"Just take the best prospect at this point and don't worry about organizational need."

Which is why I am ready for these mock drafts to be over and done with.

The thing is, I think that last statement should mean to take one of the Vandy pitchers. They are the best prospects.
