Spring training:
Steven Duggar - .250/.438/.500, 8 walks, 11 strikeouts in 32 PAs
LaMonte Wade - .200/.306/.300, 4 walks, 12 strikeouts in 34 PAs

Yet Duggar is sent down because "the Giants have asked him to work on his consistency at the plate and be more aggressive with incorporating bunts and using his speed on the bases this spring."
And Wade, who's supposedly a patient hitter, gets to continue competing for the outfield.

Does Wade have any options left? (I honestly don't know, and I am far too lazy to look it up). That could be the reason.

OK, so I guess it's more of a "FZ pride" thing. (FZ thinking "Duggar wasn't acquired by me"). OR, maybe it is "we've had years to evaluate Duggar and think we already know what he is and is not capable of - Wade we just got and want to keep eyes on him for a bit longer". I don't expect to see either on the active roster come opening day, i think that they are both "depth" pieces.

Duggar has definitely cooled off since I got on is bandwagon.

Longo, it appears, 4 HRs, is going to be on the OD roster ...

Yeah, Duggar did cool down, but that's still better than Wade, who's not looked good yet in spring training.

Longoria is definitely on fire with the bat but it seems to be a bad idea to have him on the roster if he cannot play the field. He'll be limited to just one at bat a game until he can field (except for any games in AL cities).

I think is essentially what’s going on. Duggar is what he is, and the org knows all his warts (and strengths). Wade is new and they need more time to assess what he is. He has already been essentially cut, but they are “keeping him in camp” anyway to see him better. He may be a DFA candidate for some of the NRIs who do make the team.

I just realized you have Wandy Peralta as a right handed pitcher, but he's a lefty. May not matter much as he's probably headed for waivers soon anyway.

Even though Jose Alvarez has pitched as poorly as Peralta (and Selman), Peralta will get the raw end of the deal.

With a name like this, I expect him to be the fastest baseball player in the org.

And if baseball doesn't work out for him and he is good on the air (broadcasting) he could make it as a weather forecaster on the evening news. :pound:

Oh yay :bored2:

Interesting piece is that they put Davis on the IL instead of DFAing him. Willing to pay him ML salary to keep him.
