The idea of Winston is starting to grow on me. He got his eyes fixed.

I would love Dak here.

I know I'm gonna get killed for this, but I wouldn't mind signing Cam, keeping all our draft picks and kicking the QB can down the road for another year. Cam could be Heinicke with an arm. He knows the offense and maybe he has a second act here.

Alex was 5-1 but no big name WR will sign here if he's the QB

I'm not giving the Jets anything for Darnold. That 2nd rounder could be our MLB (Moses, Browning) for the next 12 years.

I'd rather roll with Heinicke, Allen, and Alex, than give the Raiders anything for Marriota.

If we are gonna give up picks, let's go get Fields.

A third for Darnold, is something I could live with.

Dean where do you rank Sam, compared to Alex and Taylor? Also in comparison to Mac and Trey?

I put Sam over all of them right now. Alex should retire. Cant trust Taylor to be the starter right now. But as a backup, yes. Mac looks like a safe QB. Trey, I dont he will be there when we pick.

A team gave up a high first for his potential. He busted. Only a stupid team gives up a first again.

Why didn’t we get a first for Haskins? He had potential.

Darn old was on a bad team and he was a bad QB. He has potential, that is why you give up a third at most. Teams are calling because he is available. It doesn’t mean they are offering anything for him.

lol. b/c haskins is a head case. I think he fetches more than a 3rd. I dont think Darnold is a bad QB.

Mostly all time greats. You need an all time great or one hell of a defense to win a SB. In a few cases you needed both.

It's clear to me that there are some here, who are too focused on getting some wins, when the goal has been and remains winning it all. None of those slugs do anything other than being an slight upgrade over what they currently have, and that isn't saying a lot! Honestly fellow posters, has it gotten to the point where satisfaction comes from making these small improvements?
And the FA signing, trading for or drafting of 2nd n 3rd tier QBs every few years. While hoping a QB capable of being a legit NFL QB falls into your lap. Without having to take any risk will become this team's new norm. While fans worry and wring their hands out over which DT or DE or CB to re-sign and which ones to let go. Meanwhile Watson will be leading whichever team had the nuts n foresight to trade for him. Habitually deep into the playoffs after perhaps a few lean years with a couple less draft picks while still under 30 years old.

Darnold should garner more than Haskins ever would. As the reason the Skins wouldn't have gotten shit for Haskins is because he started what? 6 games for the Skins. That was about 5 games too many. That's why the Skins couldn't have gotten a moldy grilled cheese sandwich for his behind. All that said. To hell with acquiring Darnold.

I don't agree on Sam, i do agree Alex should retire and Taylor has injury history.
Mac looks exactly like Alex to me, with less mobility. I'd still rather draft a qb later, who knows, we may find the next Dak in the 4th

the economics precludes it . i showed above what it does to the team and the cap and the effect of losing the draft picks . you just cant put together a package that would beat the competitors for his services without going full blow ricky williams for 2 drafts

everyone thinks CDC should retire , everyone else thought he should quit after the injury . did he ? now the circumstances have changed a bit but with an off season , some more training , could his leg be even stronger allowing him some more mobility ? . this injury was devastating and everything we know about it is revolutionary so who knows ?

every interview i have seen indicates to me he wants to keep playing . now if its with us i cant tell you but many supporters of the trade told me he wins , and we can go to a super bowl with him i am not ready to rule out his future , but i also acknowledge he could be done

"Can we win a Superbowl with ____________ as our quarterback?"

Whatever name you put in there, if YOU think the answer is no, then do not spend any picks or trade any assets for said quarterback.

most people on this board want a HOF qb . they wont be satisfied without one . avg to good wont cut it because they percieve it as being tried . well i say no it hasnt because our team hasnt put together a complete roster of good players since our last superbowl appearance back when long haired humanoids roamed the earth

If Darnold can be what he was at USC and our defense remains top 3 to 5, its possible this team could achieve the impossible. I just think there are so many better options out there.

You might've showed a possibility of what could happen. It didn't show a beyond a doubt certainty of what would happen.

Nick Foles , Jimmy G and Jared Goff have been to the last 3 superbowls and not one of them is considered a top 10 qb
