I REALLY hate the Peg fans. Talk about obnoxious. They were catcalling Fleury before the game started, then after his one goal to make it 1-1 (allowable, maybe), then did it when Malkin took a penalty when the Jets were down 2-1. And they're still doing it...down 4-1. They've also boo'd Malkin all night. I'm okay with booing occasionally if there's some underlying reason (player cheapshotted someone in previous game/season, player said something about city/team/player, player left your team controversially w/i 1 season after which it's lame), but seriously? Booing a guy because he's talented and in your building? Just like booing Sid/OV is stupid, this is stupid.


EDIT: I realize now that "hate" is a strong word...but they're really freaking annoying. I'm sure it's helped their team in the past, but geez they're so Montrealian.

Sid gets a head shot, let him play, gets hit again fairly innocently: out for 10 months+now; Tanger gets a head shot, take him out 10 minutes, let him back in to play again, out for a month. It would go far for them to take up a conservative approach.

I thought Cooke just went to get his teeth check out. His shot looked like little more than a high stick than anything else.

My only explanation for Geno is that no one knew he took a shot. He just came off the ice on his own, during his change, and sat down, not unlike Geno's post-shift routine.

Good point on Geno. Cooke still looked a bit on the dazed side. I'm just very critical of our staff after the Letang thing more than any other. The Sid hit in the WC likely wasn't seen at the moment, but he looked out of it, and I'm sure they saw it on film. The Letang one was blatantly obvious and just irresponsible.

Winnipeg is mentioned here. Here's the rant:

The Jets went to fucking Phoenix! Winnipeg Jets of old now wear earth-tones. Shane mother-fucking Doan!!!! Winnipeg's new team would be the Thrashers 2.0 with a Jet on their chests. Minnesota got that the North Stars left and don't pretend like they're current franchise has been around since Al Gore created the internet. To make things even more confusing, they're acting as if this is the first season ever played for the franchise by (air quotes here) "wiping the record book." WTF?! Remember when Evander Kane wasn't sure if he should keep his own number? The poor guy must have been lost in all the confusion. Maybe it's time to be honest with yourselves and acknowledge what actually happened instead of putting your fingers in your ears and repeating "lah-lah-lah-lah." Thanks for your time. Fin.
