Reid is the son of Andy and Tammy Reid. He is the second of five children. He has two brothers (Garrett and Spencer) and two sisters (Drew Ann and Crosby)

In 2007, Britt was sentenced to 8 to 23 months in jail alongside his brother Garrett for running a "drug emporium" from their home. (Garrett is the one who died from a drug overdose in 2012)

Reid was involved in a road rage incident in 2007 where he pointed a gun at another man's face. A lawsuit was eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed sum in 2014.

Reid was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on February 4, 2021 that injured two young children near the team's training complex, just a few days before Super Bowl LV. Reid admitted to officers he had consumed 2 to 3 drinks earlier in the evening and was on Adderall, a prescription medication.

"Per Kansas City police, a white Dodge Ram that Reid was driving collided with a Chevrolet Impala that had run out of gas and was at a standstill on an exit ramp. The driver of the Impala had called family for help before the accident, which arrived in a Chevrolet Traverse that was parked in front of the disabled vehicle. Reid struck the left front of the Impala, then continued and struck the right rear of the Traverse. "

"A 5-year-old child in the backseat of the Traverse suffered life-threatening injuries and a 4-year-old -- also sitting in the backseat -- suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both children were taken to a local hospital."

On top of everything else ....this part drives me nuts.

Roadside accidents ..they are a God damn cliché. You don't fucking bring 2 kids to assist a broken down vehicle on the highway.
If you can't leave your kids at home alone ...tell your boy to fucking call AAA.

I agree, but it is still Britt Reid's fault.

So first, players get exposed because they think they needed a haircut to look pretty for their interviews this week and now this?

Sounds to me like the chiefs aren't focused on what's important.

If a player had Britt's track record he would have had multiple suspensions, and likely be on the Commissioner's exempt list.
Why aren't coaches forced to follow the same rules as the players?

According to a search warrant filed just before midnight Thursday, a KCPD officer said they could smell "a moderate odor of alcoholic beverages" and that Britt Reid's eyes were bloodshot and red.

Britt Reid told the officer he'd had two to three drinks, according to the search warrant application. He also said said he took Adderall by prescription.

The officer wrote in the warrant that he observed signs of impairment, after which Reid complained of stomach pain and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Once at the hospital, the officer requested a blood draw from Britt Reid and a Jackson County judge approved the request. The search warrant application also references that a"a computer check revealed ... multiple prior DUI contacts."

Before coming to Kansas City, Britt Reid was arrested Jan. 30, 2007, for pointing a gun at another driver during a reported road-rage incident, according to ESPN.

According to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, court records, he was sentenced to eight to 23 months in jail and five years of probation on Nov. 1, 2007, after pleading guilty to charges of carrying an unlicensed firearm, simple assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument of crime in connection with incident.

Seven months after the January 2007 incident, Britt Reid was arrested again and charged with DUI: controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 23, 2007.

Britt Reid, whose initial bail from the road-rage incident was revoked after the DUI arrest, pleaded guilty in connection to the second arrest and received a sentence of one to six months on Feb. 1, 2008.

He received credit for time served before being paroled Feb. 7, 2008.

Britt Reid also was fined more than $10,000 for the two incidents and ordered to complete Drug Court, which he did in July 2012, according to Pennsylvania court records.

Two to three drinks my ass. When they say this, triple it.

This goes for coaches and players....take a fucking Uber. It's not hard to understand. You can ruin your life or kill somebody.....poor child.
I hope this is a reminder to those that plan on driving home from a SB party.

Nothing good can come from this......

Generally speaking, in these types of situations, the driver only goes to jail if somebody dies. So hopefully that won't happen.
Straight to prison. No jail.
Any accident while DUI causing injury is automatically a felony. Federal law requires this from states or they do not get federal highway funding.

And he has priors. 5 months did not teach him. Judge will throw the book at him......

"Drinks" also doesn't necessarily tell the whole truth. 2-3 Bud Lights is nowhere near the same as someone having 2-3 mixed drinks with a heavy handed bartender.

Reid's kids have been a big mess for years. It's sad actually. You can tell Reid spends his entire life on football and his family life is a train wreck. He tried to get his other kid into football to help him clean up and he literally OD'd at training camp.

The situation--multiple cars stalled and he ran into them--sounds like one in which the DUI wasn't the only contributor. I knew a guy in high school who was killed in a similar way, stopping to help someone in an accident on the side of a highway, only to get killed by another car driving down the highway. But clearly if he was impaired he played a role.

Adderall and Alcohol?

I'm calling it now, he mixed these purposely so he could drink his ass off and still think he'd be alert enough to drive. Most likely standard MO.
