Here's a list of teams that are likely looking at the QB position either in Free Agency or in the Draft:

Jacksonville - I think Jacksonville can be eliminated due to getting the first pick and likely picking Trevor Lawrence.

NY Jets - I doubt that the Jets are willing to move on from Darnold so quickly, so I think they can be eliminated too.

Carolina - Carolina struggled with Teddy B last year after literally releasing every QB on their roster from 2019. I think they could be a good candidate for Watson.

Denver - Denver is in the same position with Drew Lock as the Jets are with Darnold. I don't think Elway moves away from Lock right now, so I am eliminating them.

49ers - San Francisco has a bit of a QB problem. Jimmy G can't stay healthy, therefore, shouldn't be trusted being the only competent QB on the roster. San Fran putting together a deal for Watson seems to be a likely scenario, in my opinion.

New England - New England went through a season with a mobile QB and the results weren't too good, but I think Watson is a severe upgrade from Cam Newton, but they don't have much draft capital so I think they would need to package up their 1st with some players as well.

Washington - Washington is in a shit situation at QB. But, they won the division for the first time since 2015 and that was with a shit situation at QB. Alex Smith might have been the most heartwarming story of the 2020 NFL season, but if Washington has a chance at Watson, I think they take it.

Chicago - Chicago can't be happy with their QB situation. If they had an actual QB playing the position, Chicago would be a favorite in the NFC and I think making a move for Watson should be explored here. I mean, why not? They were able to make the playoffs with 2 mid-tier QBs. Imagine the Bears with DeShaun Watson under center.

New Orleans - New Orleans is an interesting situation because I don't think that it's so cut and dry that Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston get handed the keys to the house that Drew built. If I'm the Saints, I gotta think to myself "Do I trust Hill and or Winston enough to be able to keep the successes from an NFC title contender to the following year?". I can't say that I do. Hill would be my option over Winston, but if I can put together a package to get a QB that I can ensure keeps my franchise in at least the NFC title hunt?

Realistic Prediction - I see a team like Washington and Chicago that are probably a good QB away from actually being able to contend in the NFC. Brady and Rodgers won't be there for too much longer and Brees is gone so this leaves the door open to young talented teams like Chicago and Washington. But I then look at a team like Carolina who has massive talent on the offensive side of the ball and who are in desperate need of a QB that can utilize those weapons. The reason the Panthers were so good in 2015 was they had every offensive position healthy and running on all cylinders. Can you imagine a Panthers squad with a fully 100% healthy Cam Newton, CMC, DJ Moore and Robby Anderson? So, with that said...

Carolina Panthers trade Curtis Samuel and the 8th & 40th picks in the 2021 NFL draft to the Houston Texans for DeShaun Watson. Houston then uses the 8th overall pick to draft Mac Jones from Alabama.

Unrealistic Prediction - 0% chances of this happening, but I like chaos and I think this would throw a huge monkey wrench in the 2021 NFL season.

Jacksonville Jaguars trade the 1st & 33rd picks in the 2021 NFL draft to the Houston Texans for DeShaun Watson. Houston then uses the #1 overall pick to draft Trevor Lawrence from Clemson.

Jets. Cost them both their #1 picks for 2021 and 2022 plus the Seahawks first in one those years and Darnold. Maybe the Texans unload some players for cap purposes also and get back cheap players.

Curtis Samuel is a free agent

Does Darnold then take the 2nd string spot and how does this affect his contract. Darnold will be a FA after next year.

Almost has to be the Jets or Dolphins, right? Those are the only teams that could even think of having the draft capital to make the Texans think about doing anything sooner than they have to.

If Darnold is overvalued in the trade market as some speculate, that would be a big boost for the Jets' chances at landing Watson.

Why the Dolphins? I think they are set on Tua being the future for the time being. At least for the next 3 years until he reaches the end of his rookie contract and then go from there. I don't think they would want to grab up all of this draft capital from Houston just to give it right back.

JAX - No. trevor lawrence

NE - It doesn’t seem like a NE type of move.

N.O. - $100 over the cap. Not happening.

Jets most realistic. #2 pick, ton of picks and good ones, still a young QB as well.
Carolina - interesting team that could also be an option.
49ers - would probably have to give up Bosa in the deal unless they mortgage their entire future but man...that would be a nice situation.

I still can see Miami making this move but the NYJ is also a top option for so many reasons. Miami and NYJ are 1 and 2 for me.

Jacksonville has a lot of shit to figure out...the last thing they need is jumping up that cap number next season when they can get Trevor Lawrence who could be better than Watson in the future and he is on a rookie deal. Nah.

Watson >>>>>>>>>> Tua

And Tua being a trade chip would also juice a potential deal with the Texans like Tua.

Lions probably use all their new firsts and Goff and trade for Watson.

Watson is better BUT more expensive than Tua. Tua will be on a rookie contract while you're gonna pay premium for Watson. I don't see Miami making a move on Watson. If Tua didn't play as well as he did this year OR it was the end of Tua's rookie contract and you either resign Tua OR trade for Watson I'd be more on board for it. But I think Miami is gonna use their draft capital to pick up a bunch more young talent on both sides of the ball and rock out with a young roster and try to challenge for the AFC East title next year.

Darnold stock has to be down after last season doesn't it? I could see him being a piece for Texans with a bunch of fake PR toting him as having potential to go along with a bunch of picks. Same for Tua.

The NFL is filled with a lot of dumb failsons and big egos. I don't like Darnold either but there's some smoke with the Darnold trade schtick no matter how stupid it seems to me.

Dolphins (stupidly, but that's the Dolphins FO for ya) came out and said, "We are not sure if Tua is the answer!"

LOL 1) The guy was not a guaranteed to play this year, 2) Did a decent job, and most importantly 3) WHY THE WORLD OF FUCK would you say that as an organization heading into the offseason!? That's like saying, "Hey guys, I value $100 at $50! Anyone wanna trade!"

The Rams' 1sts kinda blow in comparison to Miami's or the Jets. Rams are going to be in the top 5 for odds to win the SB next year most likely.

I wasn't really being serious but even spun as a bad move it's still probably better than the Texans do, if they even trade him. I mean they traded perhaps the best receiver in the game for a RB. A RB that lost his job to Kenyan Drake.
