Let me just add this about Lovie....
I appreciate everything he did for the Bears. But Ulracher, Briggs and Peanut were the cornerstone of that team. Add in Devin Hester being dangerous on kick returns too. I will give Lovie credit for that.

But from my point of view, Lovie took no interest in the offense. Almost separated himself from getting involved. And it showed. To me that was inexcusable for a head coach. Espcially since the years that followed exposed how that negligence rippled down.

I think im done now. Thanks for letting me vent.
:L :gaah::sigh:
Lovie had topped out... pure and simple. There was an invisible ceiling he could not get the team to break through and we were in a rut. A change was needed. Of course, along with that, a good replacement hire is helpful! I simply do NOT understand how in my entire life, we have NEVER been able to have a prolific offense. It would be fun, just once, to enjoy watching our offense..

I loved seeing Lovie Smith leave. He played the Packers very tough. You haven’t consistently since he left imo

I love you, man. But you're killing me.
Why don't you just give me a papercut and pour lemon juice on it?

The difference I see is when Lovie was hired he said he was hired to beat GB. Mentality matters maybe?

I know nothing. I'm just a meatball fan. But I think what's missing is just passion. IMO the Bears need to hire an ex-Bear. Singletary, Leslie Frasier, Jim Harbaugh... (too bad Chico is locked in in Washington)... maybe it won't work, but I truly feel the ex-Bears will bring the passion and fire that is needed. IDK. Maybe that mentality doesn't work with today's millennials? Guess we will never know. We are locked into mediocrity for another year.

Is it 2022 yet?

What about Leslie Frazier? Former Bear and a solid defensive guy in Buffalo.

I thought of Singletary as well... How bout we bring him in as DC and if Nagy falters, elevate him to HC?

No combine for '21 rookie class. All pro days and zoom meetings and what not.

That'll make dynasty rookie draft prep an even bigger crap shoot

I like it. Will require us to be true to our personal rankings. This will be so much fun. I can’t wait!

I want to draft now

Rivers retires..can't say I'm shocked, but definitely a little surprised. Big Ben might too..

Suddenly Stafford and/or Watson being traded doesnt seem like such a stretch. Combined with many teams having a ton of work to do to get under the likely lowered cap, and this off season could get pretty interesting.

I still dont think Watson can be moved unless its a king's ransom. They are already well over the cap and would be worse off financially if they move him.

Rumors surrounding Watson are getting bigger, and now the Stafford issue seems to be more of a when/where question than an "if" question.
It'd be stretch, but if the Lions can find partners for Stafford, someone could make it worth it for the Texans. It'll still surprise me, but at this point, certainly wouldn't bet against it.

I get that but 18 additional million in dead money for Houston to absorb if they move Watson

Its really only an additional 5-6 million more against the cap than if they keep his contract...
Yes, a huge hit for a guy who isnt there, but they've gotta look at as though that $ was spent already anyways, regardless. So take it in the shorts for one year to get a massive payout, or stand your ground and hope a disgruntled QB plays for you the next year. I mean, if he sits out, he's still counting 10-12 mil against the cap..and now not only is he not playing, but you didn't cash in when you could've. Kinda like a divorce attorney will tell ya, paying a little more in the settlement might be worth it to make it all just go away and be done with.

This kid works fer me. He got screwed out of his pro day last year, just went to a "Scout Camp" in Texas that was a joke, might not get his pro day that was scheduled for March. Yeah, Idaho State, but this kid has the heart to give it a real go.

always tough to evaluate kids from pissant schools, playing pissant competition who are always out of place and can't tackle.

Kid looks pretty sweet in the highlight reel, but is it more him, or them? Gonna have to study this kid up I see

A. Jones isn't playing, makes you think he'll be some where besides Green Bay next season.

Ive been under that assumption all year long. They gotta pay a few big names, and Dillon is kinda making it where both he and Williams are likely luxeries they can't afford.

That being said, he did have a "chest" injury after his second fumble
