Good to read there will be good interior linemen in this draft. If value is there, i'd even draft a top Center as early as Round 2. Anyway, after reading this we could probably wait till Round 3. We might trade up higher in Round 3, but point is less pressure to shore up interior OL.

The 49ers didn't have a 3rd rounder but possibly got a comp pick for developing a minority head coach in Saleh?

Any thought on OG Quinn Meinerz?

QUINN MEINERZ
G, WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER WARHAWKS
https://www.rotoworld.com/college-football/nfl-draft/player/62976/quinn-meinerz

UW-Whitewater senior OL Quinn Meinerz accepted an invite to the 2021 Senior Bowl.

There always seems to be one or two small school OL down at the Senior Bowl and Meinerz is slotting into that role this year. A 6-foot-3, 320-pound guard, Meinerz has great size for the position and poses himself as a bit of an unmovable object in the middle. Meinerz is a clear mauler in the run game, so he will probably be looking to prove himself in pass pro down in Mobile.

I'd take a flyer with our 3rd

"Flyer" is usually a label for 7th rounders, sometimes 6th?

Anyway, this does read like 7th rounder being small school and someone who needs to prove he can pass protect.

If we're not doing anything insane on the QB front, then I'd look into edge rushers with the first pick. Pair Bosa with another, preferably a speed rusher, and destroy QB's like 2019. After that, the IOL needs to be addressed....should be some decent talent in rounds 2 & 3 for that. I'd also look into Fred Warner's kid brother at safety.

They will likely need to address CB early as well.

Sounds like Watson wants out of Houston, 49ers should be making it happen.

I agree, all things being equal i'd look at pass rusher if not QB.

Even if Trent Williams doesn't resign (i don't think he will), i'd still go pass rusher......all value being 'equal'. Watching the play-offs now tells us there's nothing like pressure. We can't rely on Nick Bosa for pressure cause the offense can scheme against him. Not to mention no guarantee he stays healthy all 16 games.

If no value at the 12th pick, i'd still consider a situational (speed) pass rusher later on. Someone who comes in on passing situations ala Dee Ford. He won't be as good as Ford, but he'll add the "disruption" the other D-linemen can use.

I agree but they can't wait until the 6th round to draft a CB.
True but thats why drafting is a tough business, you can't fill all your needs with high picks. In the big picture, the goal is to come out of the draft with the most talent you can get. It might not hit all the need positions but thats ok if the overall talent is good. 'Good' meaning relative to the draft slot.

I hope they draft a CB by Round 2 but if not i'll be ok if whomever they did pick is GOOD value.

IF Kyle Pitts is clearly the best value at 12, i won't freak out. I'd just need to read multiple reviews confirming he is?

But i'm hoping the best value is an edge rusher and if not, an LT. The edge rusher would need to be a 3 down player, not for just "obvious passing situations".

At this point all the draft pundits are just throwing out click bait
Noted but this one seems very off considering our other needs, and then considering Kittle? We'd rather Kittle get his reps, not share it. But we're also ok (not deep) at the other receiving positions in Aiyuk and Samuel, even Bourne is good as a 3rd WR.

So unless Pitts is clear best value, don't see it at all.

is "IOL" interior offensive linemen? So you'd go:
1. Edge
2. IOL
3. Corner

All things being equal....yes. Of course, a lot of it depends on what happens in free agency, and of course, the QB position.

I think they are going to lose Verrett, Sherman, and Williams so CB could be the larger need.

So much will be dependant on the decision at QB. Sherman is as good as gone, but I think they can retain at least one of the other two.
