Tough finish for the Warriors. They couldn’t figure out how to attack the pacers defense which was stellar tonight. Indy hit some big buckets and the Warriors came up short. They need to figure out a way to find some easier baskets especially when the opposition sells out to guard Steph.

Yep. Simmons isn't as good as Harden but he is like six years younger.
and locked up long term. And the Sixers look really good right now. 24 is still young enough to see a guy make some improvements....not like he isnt really good either. He has his warts but 13, 9 and 7 with over a block a game and over a steal a game is not to be discarded lightly.

the part i dont like the most about it is- Embiid is your best player and they are playing through him right now and finally have the guys to space and make that possible.

Harden could hijack the whole thing and then in a year or two he is either gone or starting to get into his 30's. Paying Harden 47 million at age 33, or having him decline his option and having to give him a new contract at age 33 doesnt seem overly appealing.

def not Houston that is holding that up.

If you are the Sixers, and look like a really good team, have made a ton of roster moves to add desperately needed shooting- you really trade a 24 year old simmons thats locked up for this year and 4 more years for this year plus one or two years of Harden and totally revamp how your team plays?

Yes, you do.

Harden makes them Finals contenders. It's an easy call

Philly is in this spot as to whether they think they can win it all with Ben or not. They don't even excel to the point of making Eastern finals.

I'm not saying Harden is the cure there though.

Its a major risk for sure.

The thing for Harden is I don't know what he expects here. A contender to blow it up and trade for him.

He runs much more a chance of landing on a bad team.

in 81 minutes the Warriors benched scored 21.

in 68 minutes the Pacers benched scored 29.

and the Pacers- on a night with no Oladipo and Warren- can still win because that defense is tough. That point guard Sumner is kind of interesting at 6'6"....he a helluva wing span and can play some D.

46 assists is pretty unreal for the Warriors. Pacers with 26.

Turner is underated. He is a great defender and efficient when he gets his looks....and Sabonis is really blossoming.

i dont dispute that the Warriors ahve some depth on the bench--- but theres just no firepower....as i said- you have a handful of 8th guys but no 6th man.

my question is if y ou think Harden makes Embiid better you do it. If you think Harden makes Embiid worse you dont. He is the key to that team. If he is healthy he is one of the best in the entire league. If he is not they are helpless.

Would Harden have the discipline to allow Embiid to be the man? or would Embiid turn into the most overqualified rebound shagger in the NBA?

Both parties have some soul searching to do

Yeah again I think you need to re-read what I wrote. I said they have been very good. Not that they ARE very good. I’m not proclaiming them an amazing bench but that they have been playing well. You seem to want to contort it into an argument.

they’re a group that seems to out kick its coverage a lot. I’m not sure how long they’ll keep it up but they have been very good to start the year.

lol.....i mean that would be hilarious

Rockets are kind of sunk on Wall though. Not like they can move him and he makes a lot of $.

id say maybe Wall and Harden---- for Kyrie- in a salary move---- but shit- i cant even fathom having to cobble together enough contracts to match those 2 going the other way.

getting rid of Walls deal would be a nice little carrot to hang in front of Houston though.

You continue to way overrate Kyrie.

Nobody can even consider trading for him unless he specifically requests to be dealt to there.

There is a nonzero chance he would just refuse to play.

There is zero indication he is unhappy in Brooklyn or that he wants to be traded. He just seems to not want to play basketball at all.

I really really don't want Harden.

I would much sooner trade Simmons for Bradley Beal.

I don't think Harden is a great fit for the team.

Harden would be a better fit with Ben Simmons.

What is your point? Miami had 8 guys available including 3 who are end of the bench/2 way players.

Ben Simmons was a plus 2band anyone who watched the game would tell you he played like crap. Watch the games before you come in here with your +/- bs to try and prove some irrelevant point

Herro was great tonight

Yeah, as I said before, this Heat team played great.

Robinson and Herro kept them in it.

Robinson started cold, then heated up.... and then I never really heard his name towards the end of the game, so not sure what happened there.
Herro was menacing all game long.
It's difficult to talk about his defense when their undersized team is dealing with Embiid.
When Embiid is playing like this, passing well, and guys are hitting their 3s.... double, not double, whaddya do?

All fair points.

For me, I'm ok with the deal if I know the following :
1. Harden signs an extension
2. Harden commits to being in game shape
3. (most important) Embiid wants him

Simmons is the same player he was when he entered the league.

In the game last night, he stopped dribbling at the free throw line, had one foot in, one foot out, and all three defenders sagged off to take away passing lanes. He didn't even look to shoot. A hook. A floater. Heck, throw it off the backboard, grab the ribbie, and put it in. So much talent and vision, but I just don't think he has it mentally and never will.

It reminds me of his documentary when he was at LSU.
He never wanted to be there.
With Embiid taking the spotlight, maybe he doesn't want to be here?
I don't know.

But, Simmons for Harden or Beal?
Sign me up.

I dont think the sixers will even win the East with the current core. Harden gives them a better shot at that.
