James Harden also thinks that defense is for suckers.

I just think that Embiid is a better player when he is involved. Someone like Beal would be a perfect outlet for Embiid and would excel in the PnR as well.

Basketball isn't baseball. Harden is certainly the better player. That doesn't mean he is a better fit.

Beal is 4 years younger, more comfortable playing as both a primary and secondary focus of the offense and plays defense.

If Harden has 3-4 years left, I think it's worth it to chase that title.

I would still be ok with Beal, but I don't think he's nearly as good as Harden.
To your point about fit, I would need to know how invested Harden would be and what he would be willing to do for the team.

I mean, the dude has already earned over $200M, so if it's about the money, then no way.
If it's about the ring, then I'm on board.

dont bring up 2010..

For me '85 & '87 were worse than '10. But I know what you're saying. Just hoping the Celtics can raise another banner sooner rather than later.

Exactly. A guy like Beal would just feast with all the attention that Embiid would get in the paint. He doesn't demand the ball in his hands all the time.

Honestly, Simmons would be such a GREAT fit along side of Embiid IF he just learned and was willing to shoot. He prefers to dish the ball. He's very good at driving to the hoop. But his lack of shooting is such an impediment.

Having said all that, the Sixers were looking really good right up until they got smoked by Covid. I'm sure Morey wasn't done tinkering but the team is built a LOT better this year. And Maxey has been such a great pick so far this year.
It's not like Harden is Melo, Harden does pass the ball enough to be getting over 10apg this season. Averaging more than Simmons.....and he averaged 7.5apg last season with RW.

With a big man like Embiid he'd be even better, Might lead the League in assists.

Sounds like the Bearded One needs a little cheese with his whine.

James Harden's frustrations with Houston boiling over: "I literally have done everything that I can"

Everything huh? My bullshit meter just broke. I can remember some playoff games where he pulled a vanishing act. And it's not like he's given 100% of the defensive end most of his career.

Maybe no team wants him?

Here's my shocked face:

That's what amazes me with this. For a player with Harden's talent and ability, there is always someone who's willing to roll the dice. But so far, nothing.

Maybe teams are just sitting back and waiting to see how low he drives the asking price?

Because, as he is now......he fits no team.....but a much lower asking price.....some team may roll the dice as @trojanfan12 suggested.

In fairness, to him.....he's averaging just 14.8 FGA's over the last 5 games and for the season, he's averaging over 10apg. He isn't out there gunning away jacking up 30 FGA's and scoring 40-45ppg.

He's actually holding back on the trigger finger to shoot and looking like he could fit somewhere else if he gets traded to a team where he'll be another superstar on a team looking to win a title.

The problem is...if the Sixers were to ask him, he's going to say it about rings. But at what point in his career has he ever shown that it's about rings?

Maybe, at 31 and after seeing it fail with CP and RW he's finally ready?

Heard a caller on the DP show who brought up Kobe's trade demand and compared it to Harden.

The caller pointed out that Kobe went to the Lakers, made his demand, then he shut up and went out and did everything he could to help the Lakers win. End result, they were able to work a trade that brought in Pau and kept Kobe on the Lakers. Who knows what would have happened if Kobe did what Harden is doing?

Beal has shown this season he's capable of Harden numbers.

Kobe actually went out and played waiting for changes.....he didn't constantly bring up shit to stir the pot.

Would you really want to make that deal hoping he's finally learned?
He's averaging the fewest FGA's and PPG since he was in OKC. Looks to me like he isn't all about getting his like he usually does.....maybe he's doing that to show prospective trade partners he can change his game?
